because of coaching. I believe some here has been advocates of this team being better because of Rick Adelman's prescence.

Cuban says he thinks not many teams in the west made significant improvement, but the Rockets have and he thinks that coaching is by far the most underrated position on a basketball club's team.

He spoke highly of Rick Adelman along with adding in "no disrepsect to JVG"

This was on the Dan Patrick show this morning so you know.

I would agree with Mark simply becasue Rick is a terrific coach that will bring some balance to this team in time, especially in the playoffs.

What do you guys think about Cuban's statements.

I think his dance partner on that show is FREAKIN' HOT!!!!

Seriously, I like Adleman too but I think we've improved more because of the addition of MJ, SF, Scola, and the new improved Bonzi.

I heard some of the show when Cuban mentioned the Rockets improving. He also said coaching is the underrated x-factor in making a team better.

To me, it indicated that the Rockets are finally becoming a real threat to them. And it has little to do with the player acquisitions, way more the coaching philosophy.

The coach is always greener on the other side. If Adelman was Cuban's coach, I'm sure he'd find something to b**** about just like some Rockets fans seems to already have begun to do.

Mark Cuban is really smart, he understands the importance of great coaching. And I am not just saying that because he agrees with me

    Oh, who am I kidding....yes I am.

A lot of people hate JVG's style and mood around the business. They hate coaching against him, hate talking to him, dealing with him on a personal level, etc. JVG's style is actually very debilitating. It frustrates opponents like no other. After many of our wins last year, the teams we beat fell apart after we beat them.

As for Cuban, I'd put JVG ahead Avery. Avery hasn't proven anything. They ain't winning anything as long as Dirks their number 1 and Avery is at the helm. Kobe is their only savior.

Anytime someone says please don't be offended but I've got to tell you this..prepare to be offended.

Anytime someone says no disrespect, well the dude is totally disrespecting the subject! Sorry JVG ;)

Avery Johnson is 10 times the coach JVG was. How many times did Avery out coach JVG in his 2 1/4 career?

Once again, Cuban likes Adelman because his style fits dallas'. Dallas and sacto had classic games a few years back, and Cuban likes entertainment. Also, dallas won most of the time. Cuban would never hire Adelman, I can guarantee you that. He'd never hire JVG too, for that matter, because JVG was an assistant for Don Nelson.

Dallas lost to Sac in the 1st round right before Dallas lost Steve Nash. He acknowledged that too.

    2004-05 16 - 2
    2005-06 60 - 22
    2006-07 67 - 15

That's pretty damn unbelievable. And then you still say JVG is a better coach?

JVG still works for ABC as a commentator?

If so, I would love to hear JVG commentate on Bonsi Wells' performance.

They're both good coaches. I'll give Avery his credit. No fool can do what Avery has accomplished. It's quite remarkable what the young man has done. But then again, he inherited a team that won 60 games 2 years before.

Both have superstar players who don't come through when it matters most. But I will say this. If JVG had Dirk, Dampier, and Howard instead of Yao, TMac, and Alston last year, we easily win the championship. Same with Adelman. Everyone here knows I think Adelman's a good coach. But if we fail to make it past round 1 again, which I think will somehow happen, you have to look back at the team. I'd take Dampier/Dirk/Howard/Terry/Stackhouse/Harris/George over Hayes/Yao/TMac/Alston/Battier/Head/Bonzi any day of the week. I'd take Dirk and Howard over TMac and Yao for that matter.
