Who is better? Who do you listen to in the afternoons?

Im a big fan of Charlie. Mark and Rich seem pretty soft, but Charlie is just spot on all the time. He knows his ****

I voted for neither since I usually switch back and forth depending on the topic. If I want to hear a little more Rockets talk I'll listen to Charlie since he brings them up and actually goes to the games. I never hear Vandy or Rich talking about being there. They'd rather discuss Rolling Stone and Springsteen concerts.

I gave Rich and Mark a chance for a long long time and finally had enough.

    I listen to Charlie now.

Rich and Mark is a bad combo IMO.

Chance, give Dave Harbison (he is the best IMO) his own afternoon show and let either mark or rich be his lackey!

I hate Mark & Rich. Mark's voice is annoying and neither one of them knows much about anything except Bruce Springsteen. I used to listen to Charlie but now 790's livestream doesn't work on my office computer so I listen to KTRU. Oh dear, I don't know if I should've let that last part slip out...

    Where's the "neither" option. :)

This is slightly biased since I don't watch as much football as I used to, but I can't listen to sports talk during football season. It seems that every member of the Texans organization has a show on 610. It also doesn't help that Marc does play by play for the Texans, so he naturally wants to steer the conversation towards football.

As for Charlie, I've never really been a big fan of one person sports talk programs. Part of the sports talk experience is the banter between the two hosts. Maybe 790 will be able to afford a co-host on their afternoon program one day...

Charlie Paulillo. I haven't listen to 610 in months. No local show beats Dean & Rog in the morning.

But Charlie Paulillo's intro theme has to be the worst thing I have ever heard. It starts off with Metallica then has a Zorro quote mixed in with a woman having an orgasm, then some voice says "spank my ass and call me Charlie". WTF is that???? It makes no sense. It makes me cringe.

    A-Freakin-Men!

Mark and Rich are beyond horrible together. Rich just plain blows. My niece knows more about NBA, College Football and MLB than that mensa.

He seriously needs to get ta steppin' and soon!

I second the Dave Harbison suggestion. I typically listen to 610 for the first five minutes of my drive home, then switch over to a CD for the next 15 or so.

Charlie, hands down (and the poll shows it). I am so glad that there are two sports channels now.

Sheesh how many times can you answer the same Fire Casserly draft Reggie Bush questions, let the guys express a little personality. If I had their repititious jobs and had to deal with those stupid callers I'd be mad as hell and not take it anymore!! (name that movie?) Wait, that could be real entertainment, just let 'em go off on the idiots-on-cellphones, "FREAKING IDIOT!".

Charlie is the source, the font, but I still have to switch back and forth, ususally whenever a commercial comes on I just go to the other till they have a commercial.

(note to Chance: an evil marketing genius would arrange a truce and coordinate the commercials. I swear TV news , national and local do it)

I hope R.C. does take the Rice job, then we could bring back Coach Slocum On A Mobil. the all-time high point of Sports Radio in Houston.

Ouch, but I blaime "The Voice".

He sucks. I don't even like him calling the Texan's games.

Not local, but I'd rather listen to Howard Stern on 650. Until he leaves radio in a couple of weeks. :(

610 may want to update their site a litte:

    Wednesday November 30, 6:35 AM

Despite denying reports to the contrary early on Tuesday, Rice football coach Ken Hatfield is reportedly resigning after 12 seasons on the job.

Charlie P seems to me like a know it all who 'tries' to tell it like it is...

I listen to Rich and Mark out of loyalty to 610 (listened for a long time) and Mark has given props to Clutchfans

Who else is tired of Mark's movie/rock star rant
And Rich is too much 'New Yorker' in Texas for me.

But I'm trying to stay the course.
