Isn't jail a bit harsh for doing steriods and lying about it? Yeah its the olympics or whatever but it's just a freaking game.
That seems very harsh to me...So, this is a precendent so we can expect Barry to recieve something similar? What about those like McGuire, Palmero, etc....
Jail time for cheating at the Olympics, not so much. In this case it's who she lied to and where she did it. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601079&sid=aZDU9y1w67LI&refer=home
exactly...Perjury is a serious charge and crime in this country, the feds don't mess around if they find out you lied to them the doing steroids part is not a big deal at all, no one is going to get in big trouble just for that alone. just don't lie about it to government enforcement agents and investigators if you do it
Wait a minute. Marion is NOT a dude?!?!?! I thought it was. I don't know iSht about field & track. What hair are you talking about?
McGwire didn't technically lie to the federal government. He just said he didn't want to talk about the past. Six months does seem a bit harsh, but imagine what would happen if there was no threat of going to jail for lying under oath.
Do you think 6 months of jail time would deter Clemens? I'm not sure, he seems pretty adamant about not doing it but I hope the truth does come out.
