I covered the Stars playoff game tonight and had a cool incident. While sitting in the media room, in walks in David Robinson and Corey Pavin. (odd couple?) I have to admit, I have never really liked David, just because he plays for the Spurs, and I usually don't like any opponents. Well speaking with him made me do a 180. He came in the media room teice during the intermissions and was as cool as possible. Myself and another media guy just chatted with him during the entire break. He was a great guy, we BS'd the entire time and had laughs. His favorite movie by the way is Major Payne, missed that one. We got on the subject of Mario. He said he was great when his head is up. When he is happy with the team he is great, but that Mario is tough to deal with. That last year he was the defensive stopper they needed. This year was not the case. He said he complains alot. We all knew this. I made a comment on how he has torched us the last two years, he replied with "Yeah I am scared he will torch us next year." Well looks like he is gone. On Avery, he said he is not going anywhere. Not really Rocket related, but I thought you guys would enjoy the insight! ------------------ A Chuck paraphrase: It was surreal! Actually nothing on Tim Duncan, except that he thinks they will be contenders. Jeff, I actually do radio, I report for a station in College Station. I am their main Dallas reporter. Robinson and Pavin are friends. Unfortunately the Spurs couldn't convince Elie that the 27 other teams the Spurs played besides the Rockets were, well, the Rockets. Just hope he doesn't land with another playoff team in the West, but I'm sure he will. ------------------ It's a cool site, this clutchcity.net
