Last night, Lisa Malowski (sp?) interviewed Mario Ellie during the game. Mario said something to the effect that the key for the Rockets is keeping Francis here. Now that's an obvious statement, but it's kind of scaring me a little. Is this really that much of an issue? I'm assuming the Rockets will give him the max allowable so what is the issue? Hell, we gave up picks and half our team to get him. We've kept Walt here to appease him. What more can we do? If Stevie leaves when the time comes, I will absolutely HATE him for life!!!! He'll immediately move to the top, ahead of Scott Pippen on my list. Right next to Osama!! Seriously, I can't see a scenario in which Stevie would leave. Of course, maybe Mario knows something I don't. Any of you guys know anything?

Seriously, people. He was just making an obvious statement, and you are all turning it into reasons to freak out once again. There is little reason to discuss this now, because there is a world of time between now and when we resign Steve. A million things could change.

No, there is no way Steve Francis can leave the Rockets in a few years. Remember everyone his the "Franchise" I will forever hate the club if they make a dumb move.

Oops. Sorry, I didn't see that thread. I'm not panicking. I'm kind of shocked that it's even an issue.

There is a rumor that Steve will ghost the Rockets when his contract is up and move to the east coast (i.e. Wizards), especailly if they land Rasheed Wallace for Kwame Brown, Courtney Alexander, and others plus a 1st round pick.

The proposed deal (Rasheed Wallace to the Wizards) is B.S. There is no way you could throw together enough players to land Wallace's contract. So that's not an issue. One of Sam Smith (Chicago Tribune writer)'s wet dreams.

    Steve will stay.

there were rumors of this before the Wallace to Washington rumors, so why does this come as a suprise?

and really, these Francis rumors have no merit.

Well it's not like Mario said anything that anyone else would say.

Maybe he goes touring from arena to arena to do interviews...

From San Antonio, "The Spurs really need to keep Tim Duncan."

From Toronto, "The Raptors really need to keep Vince Carter."

From LA, "The Lakers really need to keep Shaq."

    Well duh...
