Recap... (they started it by showing the Kiss of Death...SWEET!) Mario basically said that Dallas just has "a lot of depth", but he thinks JVG is doing great job, and he thinks the team that wins Game 5 wins the series. Mario is cheering for the Mavs because he loves Avery, he is "my buddy", he said He said that Yao sometimes seems to vanish from the game, and he thinks Yao should be more physical inside because he has Dirk on him. He thinks the momentum is with Dallas, and he thinks both Tracy and Yao should get at least 25 points each in Game 5. He likes Detroit to win it all, saying "My team is Detroit, I love Detroit, they play Defense like it is supposed to be played". He likes coaching and says he watches every game in the playoffs, and that he is still very passionate about the game, and he hopes he becomes a coach one day
I like Detroit too. Who knows maybe they will surprise the Heat. But I think Spurs will come out of West.
If Yao is any more physical when Dirk guards him, then Dirk is gonna get whiplash from snapping his neck around.
The greatest misconception in the media right now is that Yao is ineffective because he's not being physical enough, and using his size. If anything, he's not out there because he's "too" physical, and they notice him more because of his size. I posted this in the JVG-refs thread, but sometimes I wonder if Yao would be better served by being the size of Tim Duncan, or Olajuwon. Sure, he wouldn't be as good as them... or anywhere close to as athletic as them... but he'd be a little faster than he is now, he'd avoid the fronting defense w/ faster "smaller" players, and he wouldn't be so visible for the refs to call fouls on. He'd still be able to set picks, help out on block shots, and hit his mid-range jumper... which is pretty much all he does now.

How can Yao be more physical when he just bumped Dirk and Dampier a little bit and he got called offensive fouls? Mario won't root for Rockets as long as JVG is the coach, coz JVG denied him an assisstant coach position about a year ago.
mario is rooting for dallas!! man does he not remember where he got his rings? Man that stings!! Did he get one as an assistant coach in SA as well? not sure.
Yao needs to learn bruce lee's 1-inch punching technique. I think he gets called cuz when he's physical he shows it. Unlike shaq when he's physical it's just the slightest of nudges but what a powerful nudge it is.
I think he's mad a JVG because he interviewed for an assistant coach position with the Rockets and didn't get it.
I guess I'd be mad too but even still. Houston is the mother that gave him life. JVG is just the b*stard stepbrother who is trying to get a ring.
That sounds like a great idea until you realize that the second Yao even looks at Dirk, Dirk is going to start screaming and flopping around like his appendix just burst.
Obviously Mario isn't watching the games. Every time Yao and Dirk get tangled up with Yao being more "physical", Yao gets the foul called. Heck the officials are biased to assuming that the foul will be on Yao that the other night Dirk jerked his head back and got a call when Yao's elbows were at Dirk's chest!!
