-Multiple sources tell us that Marcus Williams is considered the “safe pick” by Houston at #8. They are looking at Foye, but could pass on him if they don’t consider him enough of a point guard. according to draft express...
Okay pick. I'd rather have a big 6 guy but he's a pretty good player. He has amazing court vision and is an unbelievably good passer. But besides passing, he's just average in the other facets of the game.
Already posted it in the Roy thread, but it probably deserves it's own. I agree about MW, and I would much rather take a chance on Foye, Brewer, or even trade down for the 12, and 15 if N.O. is amenable.
I would be very upset if we took Marcus Williams. He is a low character guy, and is not a consistant shooter. He's not a great defender either. He does make clutch shoots but can be wild at times too. Marcus Williams over Foye? That's the funniest thing I've ever heard.
i think that wouldn't be a very good pick because even though he'll probably be a good PG, he doesn't give us anything more dynamic than rafer. why not get a versatile swingman who can add something to our old and small perimeter. i would rather have brewer if we in deed don't get a shot at roy or gay.
the trade still might work if atlanta feels that minnesota or portland doesn't want sheldon williams, which is a strong possibility. i sure hope the deal doesn't fall through, brandon roy could REALLY help us out.
YES! Aside from Roy, Williams was the other pick I had wanted. I think he's gonna be a solid, solid PG for many years to come.
No Point Guards needed if they are also signing James, who will backup Alston, Brewer would be my choice if we cant get a star pick!!
James won't be signing with Houston. I don't know why Rockets fans continue to hope and dream on a transaction that is 99% unlikely to happen. I mean, sheesh, if we wanna come up with dream scenerios, just hope Stojakovic settles for our MLE. That's about as likely to happen as James signing with us.
I can't imagine why the Rockets would take Marcus Willliams. A very good passer and distributor, sure. But can he beat his man off the dribble in the NBA? Can he defend? He'll have zero impact on the boards as well. The Rockets need to get a more versatile player who can play on both ends. As down as I am on Foye, he'd be a better choice than Williams.
I think Rockets should best possible player if no one falls. IMO, that would be Shelden, then Foye, then Brewer/Carney...
i think he's going to be a great PG in the NBA. watching him at Uconn he was the leader of that team. he's not the quickest guy, but he finds a way to get in the lane and he is a great finisher. he could really help us.
