This guy sounds a lot like Dirk to me. He's 6'9" - 6'10" with a long wing span like Dirk he shoots from the top of his head (making his shots almost impossible to block) and loves the 3pt shot. like Dirk he is not to fond of defense but is a good rebounder. like Dirk he can handle the ball and has great moves to the basket. IMO today's nba is moving more and more to smaller more athletic big men. Boris Diaw is a perfect example of what the NBA is gearing more and more to. Instead of teams using big men with low to no real skills they are putting smaller more skilled players that can run the floor and hit the open shot into the traditional big man postitions. There just are not many Tim Duncans or Shaq's left in todays NBA. Instead we are seeing guys like 6'9" 230lb Boris Diaw playing center and 6'7" Shawn Marion playing power forward. like Dirk, Marcus Vinicius Vieira de Souza will likely come into the league as a small forward...but at 6'10" with an outstanding outside shot it is not hard to see that he will likely end up at the power forward spot. Disclaimer: I have never seen this guy play...only read the Bio's and also read that he is having very good work outs against some of the so called lottery bound players in this years draft. If any has actually seen this guy play then please post comments. He sure sounds like someone the Rockets could use and is a hell of a lot more intriguing than a 1 deminsional spot up shooter like Novak or Pittsnoggle. Check out one of his Bio's here: http://www.draftexpress.com/viewprofile.php?p=50 I've seen mock drafts with him going mid to late 1st and other mocks that don't even list him.
I haven't seen him play either but he sounds intriguing and is potential proof that we could trade down and grab some shooters (this guy, Maurice Ager, etc).
That's pretty much like I was thinking. Dallas and Phoenix are both stocked with shooters as well as people that can drive to the rim and we obviously need all we can get.
