If we were ever in need of a win streak it's now. We're on a 4 game win streak and it's not a for stretch to get to 14. March 16-22 is the most crucial point of our season. It's a tough 5 games stretch, and you can add it to 7 if you consider we've already lost to Charlotte (the March 14th game) and Sacramento (the March 24th game)... March 16 - Lakers March 18 - Boston March 19 - New Orleans March 21 - Golden State March 22 - Phoenix If you're like me you probably check the conference standing daily and see that 1) we're on the outside 2) it's possible if we go on a streak and some teams loose some games 4th in less than a week. What does that mean, loosing 5 games in a row is NOT an option at now point of the season...
I hate the lakers, and they beat us on our home court. But them not having bynum and only gasol on yao doesnt necessarily put them over us. I'm not discounting their ability to play but the way things are going now, (Tmac stepping up, scola/landry playing strong and rafer, well, not shootin THAT badly...) I think we can take them! The other teams on the otherhand...yikes.
I agree... that is the most critical stretch of games this season. We need to beat NO BAD!!! and LAL... We've already proved we can beat Phoenix, multiple times. Beating BOS would show the world whats up. Starting 5 for the BOS game, imo should be, b/c that game is going to be brutal, although losing to them wouldn't be as big of a deal as losing to a WC team. Rafer McGrady Battier Hayes (with Scola coming in pretty soon after we get some good defensive stops in). Yao GS all we need to do is defend the perimeter and get rebounds and thats ballgame.
I HATE how whoever makes/adjusts the schedule always makes our back-to-backs with Phoenix and Golden State. And I doubt it's a computer screwing us over. And how the hell did we get this stretch in the first place? The 3 best teams in the West along with the best team in the league and a fast-paced playoff team? It's OK. We almost got Boston last time. We'll get them this time. I think we'll get the Lakers. I think NO is going to murder us with matchups. GS/PHO is a tossup. I hope we win one of those games. If Yao's still tired by then, no way he can deal with the fronting of those little punks.
