    Unlikely.

Wouldn't that leave us a gazillion dollars over the LT threshold? Would that even be a legal trade due to that 125% incoming/outgoing rule?

I imagine any deal would have to include (Scola or Landry) + Brooks + Battier + something else on our end for Bosh + something else on their end.

If Toronto wanted to trade Bosh, it would be because Bosh will become free agent next summer and they don't want him to walk for nothing. They want some assets back. Since Scola will become free agent, it will be not meaningful. Of course, Scola is restricted free agent. But, that's weak. Toronto also has Bosh's bird right.

The only way we could match salaries without TMac, is to use Battier, Ariza, and Scola or Landry. At that point, we would have enough room after we let Tmac go to sign a near max contract next year. Wow, that would be awesome.

I don't see why Toronto would consider trading Bosh with their team starting to click right now.

Bosh might have told them behind the scenes that he'll leave. Certainly the team can deduce he won't stay after this season.

I think a third team would be involved somehow.

Someone on the realgm boards is posting that the Twolves will trade Jefferson by the deadline. I should know better than to read it, let alone believe it, but that would be the sort of deal I could see to make this work. Kahn DID show some interest in Tmac, and to me that always seemed to be for the big expiring contract.

I really think we would have to keep one of Ariza or Battier.

If we, as fans, notice the redundancy of those two being on the court, then any semi-competent GM would too.

    But on second thought...

Yeah, perhaps that's the case. If they're considering Thomas, Hinrich, and pick for Bosh then Morey can easily beat that package.

Yeah Bosh is making $15,779,912 this year. While we're getting similiar production from Scolandy at a combined $6,375,600.
Kind of hard to justify a Bosch deal looking at the salaries.

The only way could work for this trade is trading Yao for Bosh if an injury player could be traded.

It appears from the last paragraph of the article that the Rox are going to make a run at Bosh whether Toronto wants it or not. Morey won't take NO for an answer and will make them kick his a$$ out of their country before giving up.

So this is what DM was talking about the other day when he said that nobody on the team is untouchable

The Rockets can either (1) do a Bosh deal now, with McGrady + Cheap talent for Bosh + a contract Toronto doesn't want (Calderon? Hedo?), or (2) wait til the summer to try and do a S&T.

No way I give up Landry for Bosh. Scola + McGrady + a future 1st round pick for Bosh + whatever fillers that I can live with.

Why not? Bosh would be an upgrade.

No way they don't demand Landry in a deal with us. Bosh is one of the few I would give up Landry for right now. SELL HIGH.

Without involving Mcgrady (which I find hard to believe it wouldn't), the minimum I see us giving up (that works financially) is:

Landry, Cook, Andersen, Budinger for Bosh.

or they might want Battier instead of DA. My only wish is that we somehow hold on to Brooks. We can't afford to lose all of our backcourt scoring. And if they took Battier and Budinger, we'd lose a TON of depth at the wing. I think their is almost a definite chance that any trade we make is going to involve a third team.

Good point. I think this is why Morey is probably not even looking at Bosh. His stats are overly-inflated because he's their only post presence (Bargnani plays outside half the time). Bosh is not a significant upgrade over Scolandry. Plus, what happens when Yao is back next season? Both of them play down low 70%-80% of the time.

    Rockets' PF/C rotation next season:
    Yao/Andersen/Hayes
    Scola/Landry

    Rocket's SG/SF rotation next season:
    Ariza/Budinger/Brooks
    Battier/Ariza

Which one looks like it needs an upgrade more?
I think Morey is still targetting a star perimeter player.
