Marbury crossing Ming...

This is what pisses me off....ESPN loves to hate on Yao. Did any of you notice when they were going into a commercial break, they were showing some quick highlights of Ming. On this one occasion, they show him score once, then they show him clank his shot off the backboard, followed by the Marbury crossover. What the hell is that? Those highlights that lead to a commercial are almost always comprised of players making sweet shots or doing something spectacular. ESPN conveniently forgot about the other 4 shots Yao made. ESPN also showed that shot that clanked off the backboard like 4 times. Why? To show that he isnt a good player? They are after him.

I admit though, the Marbury crossover was nice. But, why was Amare laughing his ass off? Wasnt he the one that was stuffed by Yao? Yes. Did he forget that he was the one that got burned for a few baskets by Mr. Ming? I guess so.

 

I love Ming, but taking off my thick-pinstriped colored glasses: that **** was absolutely HILARIOUS.

 

You have to admit, that was pretty funny. Of course, I knew Marbury was gonna do something the moment Ming stepped out to him and I think Steve knew it too. But then again, Marbury has one of the best cross overs in the game so it came to no surprise. Atleast, Ming learned something.

 

Yao needs those things to happen...it's the only way he is going to learn and get better. We should thank Stephon.

 

Mooch could have done the same thing. Yao was exposed... he should never had been in that position. The film of this game will be painful to watch. Marbury deserves kudos for his last shot, but not for causing Yao to fall on his a$$.

Having said that, it WAS pretty funny. I just don't want to see it again. (and again, and again- I hate ESPN! Their crew last night was HORRIBLE. How do these people get these jobs??)

 

I thought Ming was bumped before the shot that hit the side of the backboard, and tossed the shot up to try for the 3 point play. I could be wrong, though.

 

eh, the sad thing was that it was a half-assed crossover.

Didn't even look like Marbury was getting ready to drive it hard when Ming tripped over himself.

 

This is an annoying thread and just 2 embareass ( note the sp!) Yao Ming, I don't see this funny at all!! It Just gives alot of ammo 2 these A-holes from ESPN , The Spoting News, Anti-Ming morons, etc.. 2 shoot at Yao Ming!! He should have received help from a team mate, just like Shaq or other big men!! This should be LOCKED!!! On the plus side, he's learning the NBA game the hard way and looks like he will suceed in the near future!!

 

I don't see why this is even an issue Marbury is suppose to be able to cross over a 7'6" rookie center. Nothing shocking here.

 

How about when Amare got posterized when MoTay dunked on his head? I thought that was sweet...

 

Funny's funny, and that was hilarious.

 

Odd that Amare, Joe Johnson, Scott Williams, Casey Jacobsen, and the rest of the bench laughed at the fall all the way through an entire commercial break, but were all either outdone or matched in points and rebounds by Ming.

Sure, it's funny...but Ming wasn't really crossed over by Marbury(Like CK said), he just slipped. I doubt if everyone would have laughed as hard if Steve had gotten Amare to slip.

 

I remember Hakeem did the dream shake on George Muresan and the same thing happend to muresan. He went down so fast it looked like he broke his ankles. I guess taller people lose their balance easier, and they look goofy when they go down. That would probably be Mings most embarassing moment ever on the court.

The cross over really didn't seem all that. Marbury is just too fast for Ming, Not suprising that Ming fell on his A$$. I have to admit it was funny. Although i'm the only Rocket's fan at my job and you better believe my co-workers today are letting me have it.

 

I'm just happy he didn't get hurt on that. He doesn't seem to have much ego so I doubt it'll bother him much. It's all part of learning in the NBA.

 

It's probably a good thing that Yao Ming doesn't know too much English, so he can't grasp all of the negative comments about him from ESPN and so on.

I did think it was pretty funny though. I mean, Stephon Marbury SHOULD be able to get by any center in the league -- especially a wirey 7'6 rookie who is still getting acclimated to the game.

 

I think even his rocket teammates were waiting to see what happened. Everybody was just thinking wholly crap, this is something you don't see every day. And that's why nobody helped. I know I was interested. But damn. That was pretty funny. The pheonix bench was having field day with that one.
