Manu embarrassed Stockton and Karl by flopping in that play against Bonzi. That flop look ridiculous.
Yeah what was that guy thinking?! Like the leader of the free world could ever tell a lie... especially such a god-fearing republican one. Just absurd.
they shouldn't make those calls unless they see the actual foul. they called a foul on manu throwing his arms up and falling. they didn't see bonzi do anything because he didn't do anything. they should only call what they see occur.
exactly, maybe not that much each time but a progressive scale. Refs are human and its sometimes hard to judge from the angles they have what is and what isnt a flop during real time especially considering the environment surrounding the game. If there is already a team of officials going over each game to critique the refs they can easy look out for flops and issues fines. I think that will help clean the game up a lot. Players may flop still during the game, but they sure as hell will stop when its starts affecting their pocketbook. like 5k for the first time, 10k for the second, 15k third 25k 4th time and so on.
Refs cann't see many of the flops during the game, so technical fouls are hard to give. But fine the floppers afterward should really reduce this crazy stunt.
i thought this was addressed in the off-season? i dont see any significant policy regarding flopping... didnt see the play, though I'm not surprised.. its the spurs its manu its the spurs
Technicals for flopping. Issue them postgame with video review. It's very warranted because flops make the game much harder to call. Refs enough to worry about without having to determine whether or not a guy is faking. Flops like the one last night compromise the game. League rules are that suspensions are handed out after sixteen technicals. Every tech after that is another suspension. That means guys like Manu, Horry, Okur, and Varejao have sixteen flops before they get suspended for each one. Trust me, they'll stay on their feet with these rules.
