Ha, you thought it was another poll, didn't you.... Anyone watch this show on the Travel Channel? This guy travels around the country and profiles all these restaurants that have eating contests etc. I watched an episde about Austin last night. They profiled Salt Lick BBQ, Juan in a Million, and some donut shop in Round Rock. The guy tried to break the record for breakfast tacos at Juan in a Million. Apparently it's 7, but the guy could only do 4. Those things look HUGE. They also had a place in Amarillo that had a 72 oz. steak! You had to eat the steak, a dinner salad, roll, full baked potato, and a shrimp cocktail in under an hour. The guy actually pulled that off.
Yeah I watch this show when I can catch it. Some of those challenges look absolutely disgusting. I remember one that was a 7 lb burrito that included a dozen eggs. There is a show similar to that on Food Network where that blonde douchebag-looking guy travels and visits different eateries too although he doesn't do the challenges or at least I have never seen him do them.
The best show on the Travel Channel is No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain..I think I have all of the episodes DVR'd.
I think I saw this the other night. The show I saw had this guy visiting multiple locations around the world eating different foods that were offered by street vendors. Sound like him?
Yep... Pretty good show. Anybody see the on with the burgers that had the cheese actually inside of the hamburger patties???
Yep, that was it. Although that was a clip episode (of other past shows). All of the other episodes have him visiting a specific country. He actually won an Emmy for the episode where he visited Beirut back in 2006 (and the Israeli attack occured halfway through the episode).
Yep, that's probably what you saw. It's an awesome show, but every time I see it I get the itch to travel and then I get depressed because I can't.
Man v Food is cool because he tries all those outrageous challenges. The other show is Diners, Drive in's and Dives and that guy goes around to all these little one off places that serve great food. The host does look like a huge Dbag but he's really not so bad. The places he gets to eat look awesome. I understand he was recently in Houston filming at Lankford Grocery which is a local dive with the best burgers in the city.
Yeah, that looked good and disgusting all at the same time. You take a bite of the burger, then cheese comes oozing out of the middle. I think it was called the Juicy Lucy or something like that. Which guy? The Man v Food guy or the Diners guy?
I catch it sometimes when I flip through the channels. The spicy food challenges are the best. No Reservations is one of my favorite shows on TV period.
Negative. What you saw was Bizzare Foods with Andrew Zimmern. Both are good shows, though Bizzare Foods has better host, and Man v Food has more appetizing food
we watch alot of man vs food (the brown hair guy) and the diner, drive ins and dives (blonde douche guy) and anthony bourdain no reservations. we're not a fan of the zimmerman guy though...very annoying to us. i bought the DDD book for my husband for his b-day and they have recipes in them too!! i heard DDD is coming to BB's on montrose too and it might be the season opener episode. not sure of the latest news tho.
Been there, its a little place thats ALWAYS packed. They offer you extra tortillas with each taco so you can share. My brother ate 3 1/2, I ate 1 1/2 and my uncle ate 1 1/2. They are tasty... Been to Salt Lick also...really good. Lines wrap around the place.
