    I wonder what has prompted the rise in Islamist terrorism in France of all places.

    Sometimes when people go down they will raise any flag. And I suspect the al Qaida flag is an easy one to grab when needed.

    To answer your question, because they can. It is always and will be because they can. al Qaida is not science...very black and white.
