sorry if this has been posted and I missed it - but I knew this guy. Never liked him and he was always getting in fights (once with my brother at Molly's in Conroe which is where I saw him a week or so ago - and sure enough he was getting in a fight).

The picture of him smiling is his mug shot which was on the front page of the local paper today.

Sick dude. Local paper says bond is set at a million but this one says $250,000.00

either way it is freakin' nuts.

Associated Press / KHOU.com staff report

CONROE, Texas -- A man accused of dousing his girlfriend with gasoline during an argument, setting her on fire and then claiming she was injured in a kitchen explosion has been charged with murder.

Terry Lee, a 44-year-old Child Protective Services caseworker, died Sunday after she was burned over 90 percent of her body at her Conroe home in the 1700 block of Fay Street late Saturday night. Neighbors said they called 911 after John Dodd ran to their home, saying there had been an explosion.

Dodd, who is charged with Lee's murder, has had several run ins with the law including a 1992 indictment in Hays County where Dodd was charged with forcing a woman to perform sexual acts after he burglarized her home. Dodd eventually pleaded guilty to one count of burglary with intent to commit sexual assault.

Less than a year later Dodd was sentenced to five years in prison on the burglary charge and was released about two years later. He also has been arrested on charges of theft, criminal trespass and violation of a protective order according to a report in the Houston Chronicle's online edition.

Conroe Police Sgt. Mike Tindall said investigators believe the couple arrived at Lee’s home after a night out. During an argument, investigators believe, Dodd then grabbed a can of gas, doused Lee, then ignited it.

Lee had been a Montgomery County caseworker for more than 20 years and was a past winner of the Texas CPS caseworker of the year award.

Friends said she had only been dating Dodd for a few months.

Dodd, 41, was in the Montgomery County Jail and is charged with murder. Bond is set at $250,000.

My reading comprehension sucks. I'm screwed.

Horrible story anyways, to light someone on fire takes a special kind of crazy.
