I may have missed the Thread .. if so . . please Merge BUT MAN . . . THIS IS A GREAT MOVIE If you like DEATH WISH or THE EVIL THAT MEN DO [basically a Good shoot'emup like Charles Bronson made] You will love this movie Denzel is in RARE Form Rocket River
R R, Totally agree. A really intense flic. Denzel and Dakota were both awesome in a gripping saga. "Ahnold" doesn't have anything on Denzel now!! What a great way to spend a rainy, cool Saturday afternoon in Dallas. "revenge is a dish best served cold" D R
you're a prisoner of the block until the gunshot sets you free good movie... didn't like the ending... but it's not as formulaic as some of the critics suggest.
u r correct sir Rocket RIver PUNISHER SUCKED AAAA********SSSSSSSSSSSS The Dolph Lundgren one was better
I saw "Man On Fire" last night and I must agree that this was a great movie. It made my girlfriend cry but I was laughing at the way he made those involved suffer. Some quotes that stuck with me: "I wish you had more time" "A man can be an artist at anything. Creasy's art is death and he's about to paint his masterpiece." ****SPOILER********SPOILER*************SPOILER******* I just didn't get the ending: With the girl in hand why didn't Creasy just go with her and the mother? Why did he agree to have his life taken?
****SPOILER********SPOILER*************SPOILER******* They got rifles, which can easily kill all three of them.
He stayed with them because he realized that if he didnt then they would not stop coming after them. He wanted the girl and the mom to live in peace, plus i think he knew he was going to die anyway. Plus he did not want to take a chance with the girls life. The sniper could have just as easily shot the girl and the mom.
I agree that this is not oscar material, but this movie shows how talented Denzel is and the impact that he can have on just an average movie.
I just came back from this movie. Damn I love Denzel. I was getting so pumped as he went on his spree of avenging Dakota. Now I gotta go back and see "Out of Time." Seriously. This movie kicked major ass.
Man of Fire John Q Training Day Remember the Titans The Hurricane The Bone Collector He Got Game Philadelphia Mississippi Masala Yup you're right. And that's not even counting the flicks I ain't seen him in, like: Pelican Brief Crimson Tide Courage Under Fire Pracher's Wife Mo' Better Blues One helluva actor. Ranks right up there with Ed Norton Jr. and Brad Pitt for me (along the lines of always in great movies)
It was good but nothing we haven't seen before. Anyone seen the prequel? I think it was called "A Man Apart" except Vin Deasel was the Star. Peace.
seriously...never compare a vin diesel movie to this movie again. this wasn't just random violence...this movie was as much about the character development of creasy as anything else...particularly related to dealing with guilt for his past...which led him to drink...and then his redemption through self-sacrifice. there is more to this movie then just, "wow...cool...he tortured some bad guys!"
