I don't know about the rest of you, but this bums me out. Don't get me wrong, last year was a blast, but the prospect of only having the Astros to root for the next few month is down right depressing.

Didn't they suck for most of the year... and come on strong in the last six weeks or so? Oh yeah, we don't have Beltran...

I am so bummed out right now. The Rockets last night and who knows if the Astros will turn it around.

Sometimes I think I invest too much of myself into sports. It will help that I'm moving to San Diego in a week or so, but things look bad right now.

I wonder if there are people here that still defend the off-season moves?

I'll be completely honest and say the move I'm most upset about is even going after Beltran in the first place. This is, of course, a revisionist opinion, but I really like seeing Taveras out there everyday. That would've freed up money going after other bats, even though I'm not sure how well any of those we could've gotten instead are doing.

I am happy we didn't sign Beltran for more than we offered. It'll be interesting to see who we add either this season or in the off-season though. The offseason, even though it has to be considered a failure at this point, did allow for financial flexibility that will make us players in the market. With it becoming more and more inevitable that Bagwell won't be back next season, that just makes that probability even more likely.

To be honest, I just need a sports break. The Astros sucking right now helps. :)

    RM95,
I am with you regarding the flexibility next year. But, I still blame the front office. They really dropped the ball. We could have had a championship team. Our starters deserve better. We deserve better. WE WERE ALMOST THERE!

Boy this is gonna be one long hot summer. The Rockets lose by 40 in their final game, the Astros lose 16-0 today and the Texans first preseason game is not until August.

With all the cost custing the Texans have done in the offseason, we may not even have that to look forward to. What a crappy time it is right now.

Hopefully we can be the 2005 version of the Chargers.

When the hell does College or NFL football start..... I need to start counting down the days.

    16-0 loss to the Braves?

    2 freaking hits?

    TERRIBLE.

    :(

Minor league baseball owns up major league baseball. It keeps me sane.

They should have had only one hit because Palmeiro was out on that play in the 9th inning. I guess the Ump felt sorry for us. This sucks.
