Malosky also doesnt know what players play on the rockets. She always gets the names mixed up. ------------------ Vice President of the Jason Collier fan club!
Bring it on Mobes Critics Stick those 10.6 points per game in the last quarter where the sun don't shine. Thanks HP (nice backflip) Mobes ROCKS SmegMa CUT-TINO ------------------ The Criticism Police are in the House [This message has been edited by SmeggySmeg (edited November 16, 2000).]
Cuttino is the man. Go Cat!!!!! ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams fan club. Web site coming soon atheistalliance.org
I have always said that Cuttino is the man down the stretch. It is good to see some numbers to back this up. This is why I say he will be an all-star soon, maybe not this year but soon. ------------------ Rockets Season Ticket Holder
upon further review of the tape, Bill Worrell says, overall..."Kobe is the only SG scoring more than Mobley." Is that right?! [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited November 17, 2000).]
Now if Phil starts Isiah then Kobes can move to the 3 spot........... GO MOBES ------------------ The Criticism Police are in the House
Cato13: Just curious... how much do you trust #'s? For instance, last year Mobley averaged more in losses than wins. I don't DISAGREE with you. I just want a little more convincing that a nice average after 8 games. Still, he was great today . ------------------ Shandon Anderson rocks. The lottery sucks. Playoffs 2001.
I'm not taking anything away from Cat, but this team is still Stevie's. It kills me when Steve has a bad game, but I'm happy when the Rockets win. Here's some flame bait, but does anyone think that Cat is really into padding his stats ? He scored 13 in the 4th against the Bulls when the game was over. Maybe he shouldn't have been in in the 4th. Flame away. ------------------ "There are two players carrying the Rockets right now. Hakeem and Olajuwon." Isiah Thomas [This message has been edited by gr8-1 (edited November 17, 2000).]
Well, it might be Francis' team, but after 10 games, Mobley is scoring more points per game (with both a better FG% and a better 3 point FG%) than Francis. And he's doing it with just slightly more than three quarters of the minutes that Francis is logging. ------------------ stop posting my damn signature
Mobley should NOT be the go-to-guy until he learns how to play under control. This means not dribbling for 20 secs only to jack up a ridiculous jumper while his teammates stand and watch. He needs to learn how to find the open man and use his four teammates. Granted, Mobley will be a stud in this league someday, but he must learn to play within himself and use his team. ------------------ "Oh No..." -Bill Walton in 97 just before Stockton's buzzer beater
Mobley redeemed himself in the second half, but... is it just me, or does he refuse to pass on the fast break? Constructive criticism, of course. ------------------ "We end up with Francis/Mobley isolations very often. More often, I'd say, then other teams." -- jamcracker [This message has been edited by Tb-Cain (edited November 17, 2000).]
Cat may be the man but I still have doubts about giving him the ball when we need a final shot basket to win the game because it seems to me he has missed most of those last second shots and we end up losing the game. I think Rudy needs a better game plan for those last game plays with the game on the line then to just give Mobes the ball so he can do whatever with it...which usually looks like a forced shot or an out of control drive. I agree, though...Mobes is a necessary asset. Surf ------------------
Tb-Cain, Yes, he never seems to give the ball up on a break. There was one play where he had two guys flanking him, ready for an uncontested dunk, and he took it straight at the defender. He was making his shots, but it still makes me uneasy for him to be that reckless. ------------------ EZLN
TB-Cain, The only criticism of Mobley, is that he needs to pass the ball a bit more. On no less then 4 occasions last night, he could have given it up for an easier play by a teamate, but he took it anyway. He scored on 2 of them, and was fouled on a 3rd, so it did not seem to really affect the outcome. However, it does effect the chemistry, if players refuse to pass. Overall though, I think Mobley was a steal for us. DaDakota ------------------ If Mankind evolved from Monkeys and Apes, then why are there still Monkeys and apes?
Oh...Baqui, Saying Mobley is a go-to guy doesn't mean Francis is not one, too. But, what you are saying is straight out, 'forget the numbers, Mobley should not be a go-to guy, because it takes away from Francis's development'. Why one would turn this thread into Mobley #'s vs Francis is so ridiculous. As ridiculous as saying Mobley's scoring takes away from Francis's development. I swear: I've read stuff like that (taking away Francis development) from this board, and it is coming from fantasy-heads who need Francis to score 25ppg to win their league. You see; I don't have tickets to their league. So, I don't care. In my league, Mobley scores 18ppg and the lion's share of those points in the 4th Q. I buy hotdogs and beer and root for Mobley in my league. I don't know what you guys are doing. <font color="> [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited November 17, 2000).] [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited November 17, 2000).] [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited November 17, 2000).]
Anyone catch that MTV show with Mobley, Francis and Ceballos on a team? During a timeout Francis huddled with Ceballos and told him: "We need to keep the ball away from Mobley, he doesn't appear to pass the ball." I laughed out load at that one. They were discussing defense against their own teammate! Hilarious. ------------------ "We end up with Francis/Mobley isolations very often. More often, I'd say, then other teams." -- jamcracker
really...LOL Bird used to always call McHale the "black-hole". "the ball goes in, but never comes out." btw...further review from the Chronicle has Francis saying Cuttino is Go-to: Hey jamcracker; isn't is rewarding to hear Francis say "go to plays" rather than "go to players". It means they are a team, baby!!!!
Thank you Lisa! It's nice to see someone agrees with a brotha! Mobley may be wild sometimes, but he is more of a clutch player than anyone on this team right now. He is going to be a superstar in this league before all is said and done. ------------------ Only in America....do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet coke.
