Yes!!!! Get that sorry A**hole out this league. The only thing that can make me happier is if the Rockets beat his butt in the playoffs in his last game with him getting rejected by EG in the final seconds of the game. How sweet would that be. Some may say this is the wrong forum but with the history with have with this jerk, I think this is the perfect forum. http://msn.espn.go.com/nba/news/2002/1017/1447143.html
Cry me a freakin' river......... I'll believe it when I see it. Anything Malone says should be taken with an 8th of a grain of salt. Remember all the BS he was spewing about promising he'd never wear a Utah Jazz jersey again? Blah blah blah.
Malone, Stockton, Jordan, and Robinson all retiring at the same time? Man, that's going to be a helluva hall of fame class.
I don't want Malone to retire, I want to watch EG abusing his a$$ night after night, year after year!
I dont want to beat Malone in the playoffs. I want to pound Malone and Stockton all four games this year and see the Utah j*zz go home after 82 games. They can watch us in the playoffs.
Makes sense. He's playing out his contract, and will retire with the unique distinction of having played for the same team all your career. Ditto for Stockton, they will probably retire together and go into the Hall together (which is kinda creepy). I think he may mean it this time.
For all of our dislikes of the Jazz, how did they not win with a hall of fame point guard and hall of fame big man? I think Jerry Sloan is overated as a coach.
Karma baby, karma!!!! Objectively( atleast as much as possible when I talk about the Jazz), its because they had to play against the two most dominant players in the 90s which were Jordan and Olajuwan. Olajuwan was just unbelievable for about 4 years and Jordan was just unbelievable for pretty much all of the 90's.
Right on. But I do think if the Jazz had surrounded Malone and Stockton with better players/shooters, they might have accomplished more. Hornacek was the exception to this rule. When Hornie was on board, they did make it to two NBA finals. I just cant believe that the Jazz surrounded them with the likes of Jeff Foster, Ostertag and co. I actually was a big Thurl "Big T" Bailey fan back in the day. I would have been nice to see him play with Malone and Stockton in their prime during the mid 90s. Losing Mark Eaton didn't help the Jazz cause either.
I would be shocked if Malone retires. I think he'll play one more year and make a run at a championship, especially if the Lakers don't win a title this year. Think of it this way, say the Lakers don't win a title this year, Malone could sign with LA, would stay on the West Coast with his family, and then if the Lakers won a title with him it could be said he was the missing link to the Lakers regaining the title. I'm not saying that is what he is planning, but that is how things could work out if the Lakers fail to win a championship this year.
Nothing like a bandwagon ring to solidify your place in history eh? I agree with you. Malone is kidding himself if he thinks the Jazz have a chance to compete with the Lakers, Spurs or Kings. His best opportunity would come after hes a free agent. I hate Malone, but would like to see him get Jabbar's record. Kind of like we wanted to McGwire and Sammy break Maris' record. Everyone thought those records couldnt be broken.
Why the HECK would you like to see a jazzhole break Jabbar's record? You realize that if he does, he's going to get even more props as a great power forward. He needs to have more people recognize him as a dirty player, not as an all-time great. Besides, I want that record to be waiting for Eddie Griffin or Yao Ming to break.
Not in so many words, but he is as good as done after this season. He's 40, has two all time records that might never be broken, and his only shot as winning a ring is by latching on as a backup to Derek Fisher or Mike Bibby, which he won't do because he's too competitive. This is the last season for the Stockton and Malone show...enjoy it while you can... If you were Stockton, would YOU want to play without the guy that got you probably 75% of your assists?
Rice was traded to the Lakers. He didn't force them to or anything, they wanted Eddie Jones. It wasn't that long ago, was it?
Well I hate the Jazz and Malone. But we cant dispute the fact that hes an all time great, and aside from his flopping, a damn good player. Alot of hall of famers were dirty players.
