I read an article in SI about the possibilities of him (and maybe Stockton) being traded to NY. As much as I hate these two, they still have a chance of getting a ring if traded to a contender. I think next year is Stockton's last and Malone has 3 years left I think. I don't know the cap stuff or anything (capologists please help), but something like this could happen: They have been loyal to Utah, so it would not be unrealistic to think Utah might trade them out of loyalty so that they could have a chance to get a ring. Think about this: Utah signs and trades Stockton and Malone to NY for some combo of Houston or Spreewell and Camby and maybe one or two lesser players. NY would keep either Spree or Houston, combined with Malone, Stockton, and Ewing, and NY becomes instant favorites in the East while Utah gets a good head start on its rebuilding process. Damn. I thought I would die happily knowing those two would never win a ring. Is this actually a possibility? ------------------ I need a new signature. 302

If Stockton and Malone can't win a championship together in Utah, what makes anyone think they will in New York? No, New York wouldn't do this. ------------------ Let me tell you this... I don't care.
Calvin23, Patrick Ewing, Houston or Sprewell and LJ might play a role in helping the ambigiously cheap duo in winning a championship. Oh wait, plus the fact that NBC and the NBA would have a script made in heaven. Azim da Dream ------------------ We don't live for the destination. We live for the journey.
With the East being the weak sister, it wouldn't take much to win it. If they stay in Utah, too many good Western Conference teams to go through. Mango ------------------ Eat more spinach! Malone and Stockton made a combined $25M last year. Sprewell made $9M, Houston $8M and Camby $5.2M. Also, Camby is a 2nd year BYC player, so if NY trades him then they can only get $3.9M in return for him. There's too much money to make up here. Since NY and Utah are capped out, it's not even possible without getting a third team (with cap space) involved. It's not going to happen. ------------------
