In this weeks ESPN the magazine Malone was mentioned as possibly going to Houston. The quote: "Yes, Karl Malone wants to stay in Utah, but Yao needs a bodyguard, so why not The Mailman? The Rockets $4.9M exception is a long way from teh $19.25M Malone made this season, but he wants that all time scoring record, so he might agree to balloon payment..."

Although I hate Karl Malone, I think he might be the missing link to the Rockets success.

    Thoughts.

I wouldn't mind him as a a Rocket so he could yell at Cat, Moochie, and Francis if they're not doing the right thing.

Interesting. As much as we all hate Malone, we all know he is still good. His stats have dropped over season after season, but he is still better then the 4's we have on our team. If we can't pick up anyone better and if all else fails, sure. Let's try the old man.

I have no problem with Malone as a Rocket, but he is not going to help us get any higher than the 8th seed.

I think he will. He gives us another scoring option, is a solid passer and is great on the pick and roll. He would be a huge upgrade over Eddie Griffin or MoTay.
I think we would get the 8th seed next year anyways since the Jazz dont have anything anymore (stockton gone, malone probably gone). With Malone, the Rockets can look at the 6th or 7th seed.

    haha Yea I was kidding.

Even if he was here for only one year, he can push us into the playoffs and give our team the playoff maturity we need. Maybe we can even take it all the way with him...

Yea, I too hate Malone when he was with the Jazz..

why? because he is good, and it is tough to beat him.. you gotta admit though. He brings his team to a level where you should focus and play tough, with consistancy. I know I really hated him but I wouldn't mind Karl coming over to Houston and playing with us. Helping our team mature, not like Glen Rice.. I'm not sure if Glen is helping out with the young players but actions instead of just words but Karl could show some agressive moves on Eddie and bring Eddie's character out. And the whole Stockton to Malone thing can make our Point Guard think that passing is the main purpose of the position..

The Rockets tested my fan-hood with the Hakeem trade. If they sign Malone, I'm through.

This would be a great move for the team. Malone is one of the top 50 players of all time and I think he's itching to prove he can carry a team to a championship without his "partner in crime". Much like when we got Pippen from the bulls, we went on to....uh...well, we....

    Forget it. :)

I hate Karla!! Unless he is a rocket. He would be a perfect fit for this team. He can score from the PF position. But most importantly, he is tough. A mean SOB to get Yao's back and throw his weight around. He is old, but can still score, defend and lead. He would be great to scream at people who get out of line. I say go for it.

Malone will be an great addition to the team! He and Glenn can provide the much needed veteren leadership the team is clearly missing, if only for a season or two. EG and Yao will have an experienced person to bang against and learn from. I say absolutely get him if he can be had for cheap!

Do you know how pissed he would be running a pick and roll with Mobley or Francis? How many times on the high pick and roll did Ming get the switch and didn't get the ball? I would love to get Malone, but i think he's probably closer to going to Dallas,SA or La. If La gets knockedout of the playoffs because Duncan had a big game, look for Shaq or Kobe call and tell him what a great fit he'd be in La.He wants a ring, nothing else matters.

So we would have a 22 years old center and a 40 years old PF. Looks like a nice combination of youth and experience...

AS it was stated in the opening post:- Malone wants to go for the all time scoring record. Who is going to stop shooting so that Malone can take his shots? We might end up with FIVE players demanding the ball and Four of them end up bitter.

C'mon ZRB, wouldn't it be sweet justice if Malone finally won a ring, but WITH the Rockets, and not with Stockton "holding him back"

He's probably changed his mind already anyway. He's "through" quite a few times every year. :D

The only good thing would be we could throw things at him up close. Malone, meet your fans! Ahh! They have tomatoes!
