I was playing basketball yesterday at a local 24 hour fitness and I was playing against this guy who everyone claimed to be a player from the Rockets who played in pre-season. I'm guessing it was Malick Badiane. Anyone have any updated info on him and a recent picture? Because this guy didn't look very tall because of his strong build. His arms was HUGE and last time I thought of Malick, I thought he was 6-10? but this guy looked more like 6-8.. info please

Sounds more like Lonnie Baxter than Malick.

Actually, YOU would need to be the one to produce a picture. No picture ...didn't happen. :)

well i did a search and it does look like Malick.. but he doesn't seem too too dark as some pictures look and he grew out a little bit of a 5 o clock shadow and a strong upper body.. nice jumper too

A nice jumper ...over you... probably doesn't mean a whole lot.

okay, I'll stop giving you crap now. :)

How nice would it be if he had a nice summer league showing this year and made the squad? Not counting on it but it should would be nice.

6’8 with a chiseled upper body?

This sounds more like Torraye Braggs to me.

But hey, I don’t exactly follow his career. Braggs could be playing in Kazakhstan right now, for all I know.

I doubt it was Badiane, though. Last I checked, the Rockets don’t reassign their prospects to 24-hour Fitness.

If by chance it was indeed Badiane, both the added muscle and newfound semblance of an offensive game are very good news.

Malick was boney/gangly for the most part. And the dude was darker than midnight. Either he went and hit the weights like a madman or that was somebody else. From what I recall he had put on about 10-15 lbs. (?) from the first time I saw him, but that wouldn't make him as buff as you describe him.

LMFAO, Badiane wasn't good enough to make the 24-hour Fitness courts. Last I heard he was getting steamrolled in a wheelchair basketball league.

Keith Langford? Torraye Braggs? Dion Glover? Gabe Muoneke? Lonnie Baxter? Josh Davis? It could be either of these guys.

We had Torraye Braggs, Gabe "Ndudem" Muoneke, Alex Scales, Peter Cornell, and Mike Wilks in JVG's first year. We've had Reece Gaines, Lonnie, Keith Langford, and Derrick Zimmerman after.

Er, yeah. But to whom and what are you responding to? I'm trying to take that post in context but it's really hilarious unto itself. BTW, are you sure that wasn't Robert Zimmerman? ;)

    just out of curiosity...

    1. you never asked the guy's name(no intro's) before playing against him, or especially after hearing he was a rocket?
    2. nobody on his team called out his name during the game(s)?
    3. if it was Malick, I'm guessing he'd have an accent?? (unless he never uttered a single word?)
