http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3256599 Memphis receives Brazilian forward Marcus Vinicius from the Hornets. The draft rights to Ukrainian forward Sergei Lishchuk, a second-round pick of the Grizzlies in 2004, were sent to Houston. The Grizzlies, which also get cash considerations from Houston, acquired the draft rights to Senegalese center Malick Badiane, a second-round pick in 2003, from the Rockets. On behalf of the Clutchfans, I wish that you will come to America and play basketball one of these days.
Now let's get down to business: WHO THE HELL IS SERGEI LISHCHUK? EDIT: A soon-to-be 26 year-old 6-11 PF. Strengths: A wonderful shooter out to at least international 3 point line. A capable driver who finishes tremendously. His good moves make up for lack of quickness on the offensive end. Has a good post up game. When overmatched physically in the post he does a good job of both fighting for position and flopping. Good frame and rebounding instincts. Weaknesses: Defense, athleticism, and strength. Not quick at all, which although it does not hurt his offensive game, will prevent a full time move out to the wing. Lack of strength keeps him from posting up players his equal in size. -Nathan Stacey
Does Badiane have an agent to tell him he's been traded? Or does he just get a certified letter or something?
Numbers here look pretty poor: http://www.euroleague.net/competition/players/showplayer?gamecode=255&pcode=000236&seasoncode=u2007
This is the village where he's playing basketball. Looks like a nice gig... http://www.saintvallier.com/
