Seeing the Rockets come out and play like this against the Kings really makes me look forward to next year. In total, the Rockets are only about 23.5 points behind the Kings. Obviously, they are only a few steps away from contending.

Nice to see they haven't stopped playing hard, and these young players are showing so much promise.

And the Rockets wonder why no one shows up to see them play...

a.) Wish we went with the young guys earlier in the blowout
b.) why's mobley playing 40+ minutes in a 20 point blowout by the middle of the third?
c.) what's the point of putting Steve in when we're down by 25 in the fourth with 6:00 to go, get him hurt?

Yeah, let's play hard nosed defense, let's move the ball instead of going 1 on 5. Kings toyed with us'

They asked Steve about it after the game:

"I'm not trying to be arrogant, but this is a team that can't match up with us. We gave the game away in the fourth quarter.

I don't think our bench gave us what we expected...their bench really gave them something. That really hurt."

I am about ready to trade Francis for Miller...in fact...I am ready...Everyone would benefit.

He is an IDIOT with the ball...plain and simple..he can not dribble as good as he thinks he can...makes TERRIBLE passes on the fast break, and constantly dribbles against a double team.

STUPID STEVE.....For crying out loud, if you have 2 guys on you..someone is WIDE FRICKEN OPEN !!!

    Move the ball...MORON !!!

The classic question to ask: has this team quit on Rudy?

We hear all this glowing stuff about the much-beloved Rudy being the consumate player's coach. What' up? What's needed.

Better tacticians? Better bench coaches. The few times that I've seen him, Rudy looks befuddled. Does he make good tactical decisions that reverse momentum? I doubt it.

I'd go get one of those Princeton or Bob Knight assistants to help this team put some motion and flexibility into the offense. I guess they really took Rudy's talk to heart. I hope next preseason that Rudy stands up and not let this team throw ridiculous ally's into the stands and ****. I was turned off in the preseason how this team or group of guys,Steve and Mobley, came into preseason and acted like since they won 45 games last yr that they were automatically in the playoffs this yr. How you practice is how you play is the motto. You will never see the Jazz doing dumb **** like that, but Rudy let those few valuable games slip instead of trying to work on traps and offensive sets. Being young can only go so far.

i recognize this as a possibility...but i think it's dangerous to ditch a good coach because the team he has on the court sucks. it's easy to look at a team that's not very good, which is no longer playing hard because they've been eliminated, and say, "well...they've quit on the coach." but that may not be an accurate picture of what's really happened.

Don't 'role' players, by definition, need to have a dimension before they can be utilized? Our role players, or as we know them currently, our 'starters', don't even possess that.

The current Rockets team has always done a good job of creating opportunities for competent role players. Williams, Rice, Kenny, and Taylor all were given plenty of chances to succeed.

Only some kind of divine intervention can cure the ills of the Langhi's of the league though, so I really fail to understand how it's logical to project blame on the point guard. He's playing pretty horribly of late, but imo, it's more because he's trying to overcompensate on that end of the floor for some of the offensively challenged players on the team. Also, his defense, though mediocre, doesn't lose games. There needs to be a commitment on the part of the team to take pride in what they do on that end of the floor.

    Next season....

Mo Taylor was a HUGE loss. Adding a double digit frontcourt scorer will be a big boost for this team. Griffin's expected improvement, a healthy Rice and Walt, along with a well seasoned Kenny and frontcourt stud through draft or trade, should push the Rockets out of the 'worst frontcourt in the history of the league' status they're currently in.

The outlook for this team is a lot better than most would lead you to believe.

    I can make joke, too.

What's the difference between Andre Miller and Brevin Knight? 4 inches.

Watching teams like the Kings and Nets play is fun. Watching the Rockets play is a nightmare. No ball movement. No creativity. People standing around. There's no reason for us not to be averaging 100 pts. per game with the kind of offensive firepower we have.
