Houston had almost twice as many assists as the Knicks. It's awesome to see that our offense is clicking on all cylinders. It would be nice to see the defense go with it though!

Got to give it to Chuck tonight, he stepped up on D. Still a lot to work on but I like that Lee is getting more comfortable.

Kevin Martin played 42 minutes.....need Budinger back or let Jermaine 'the Noob Blackhole' Taylor get some burn

Or....the Knicks are a poor man's Orlando Magic. A team who relies on the three ball, but who's franchise player is the big man down low.

    Howard-Stoudemire
    Lewis-Gallinari
    Nelson-Felton

If that three ball doesn't fall, the Knicks lose. I'm sure you could find a number that correlates with New York's 3p% vs. W/L. They've got nothing else.

all around rebounding was also huge...although we didnt have a much larger overall rebounding total, still showed they were all stepping it up with Yao out.

Any team with Amare as their go to guy is gonna suck, Chuck got in there and completely shut him down. He has no skill set, open jumpers or layups are all he can make.

And any Rick Adelman team is gonna get a lot of assists, that stat doesn't matter to me, the turnover number, which is still a little high, is more important.

Another major stat, just throwing this out there...

    Rockets are 3-1 without Brooks...

Amare is nowhere close to Dwight, especially defensively. He isn't (or at least shouldn't be) a franchise player.

They're also 3-1 vs the TWolves, Wizards, Pacers, and Knicks.

That's a pretty big stat. Also, add in the fact the Lowry was also injured and Ish took most of the pg minutes.

    Doesn't matter.

Ish and Lowry together can really solidify the PG spot.

our defense has been WAY better, and much more pass distribution..

Brooks being gone and the Rockets winning is an incidental fact. It's due to the Rockets tough opening schedule and the team chemistry. With a stable lineup we are going to win more because we have good talent and a deep team. We will lose more once Yao is in and out of the lineup...

Speaking of stats, I think it's funny our point differential is exactly at 0, even though we have a 3-6 record. I would think that points towards good things to come.

You're saying the level of competition doesn't contribute to our record?

Here's my observation of our PG situation:

Lowry is a great defender and hustle player, but makes questionable decisions a lot and is extremely emotional. I don't think he's starting material. Great in transition, great at drawing fouls. Not so great at shooting, or in half court sets. Also, he is very injury prone due to his reckless style of play

Brooks is a horrible defender, but a top tier shooter (from 3pt AND midrange) and is able to create for himself and others. He may not be as accurate or flashy a passer as Lowry, but I honestly think he makes much better decisions. He's also proven he can deliver in clutch situations and can lead the team.

Ish intrigues me a lot. The scouting report coming in said he's a bad shooter, but from what I've seen, he isn't horrible. No worse than Lowry at least. His court vision is exceptional and he runs the fast break flawlessly. He knows his weaknesses and plays to his strengths. Defense is decent, but we haven't seen him in clutch situations yet. I like him more and more every game.

If I was coach, and had to decide who to start, I'd give Brooks the nod due to his experience and ability to break down the defense. Ish is really pushing though. He just keeps impressing, but we'll see how he does against stiffer competition. I love Lowry and believe he's essential to the team, mostly because of his D, but he makes too many mistakes to be our starting floor general.

I just think that even in the first 6 games we played, our inability to close out teams hurt us. A backcourt of Brooks and Martin down the stretch will get you points, but the other teams were taking advantage of our weakness and that is where I think the problem is..

Seriously Pete, you are better than this...

Stuff like that is just stupid.

    Pacers, Knicks and TWolves.....

Come on......also we have a smaller rotatoin due to injures, that helps chemistry too..as does not trying to shoe horn a guy who is playing 24 minutes a game and is not fitting in right now....

    Not a good take, IMO.

Texas has seen ish in clutch situations. He knocked them out of the tournament and if I'm not mistaken I think I heard he was clutch at wake forest
