Agreed! Good article. Funny, you know the NBA wants to do all it can to quiet the naysayers that the NBA is not secretly rooting for the Lakers to go all the way for Ratings...but not suspending him really makes the naysayers cry louder...and for good reason!

He should have gotten one game. The letter of the law is that a forearm or punch thrown above the shoulders gets one game. It was to Martin's neck. So he should have gotten one game. Earlier in the year we saw Francis shove Stoudamire in the chest and he only got a fine..because it was to the chest and not to the throat or head.

    So it's official:

The NBA feels that a player leaving the bench area during a scuffle is more dangerous than deliberate acts of violence on the court.

    Kudos!

They're thinking outside the box, obviously.

I just saw the replay, what an a-hole. He was kicked out for that why no suspension? He threw a hard elbow, that is like a punch.

I just spent five minutes looking for contact information so I could write to Stern or some other big-wig at the NBA and express my dissatisfaction with how cartain things are being handled. I came up dry. Anyone have conatct info?

    There's this:
    http://www.nba.com/email_us/letters_to_nba.html

If you want the Don himself, I believe the following is his correct information for his NYC office:

    Mr. David Stern
    Commissioner of the NBA
Chair of the Board of Trustees
    Columbia University
    Olympic Tower
    New York, NY 10022

    212-407-8000
    212-826-6197 (fax)
    dstern@nba.com

    Use wisely!

I sent Mr. Stern an email as well. Along with, was a link to that Karl Malone web site that tells his past history of dirty plays.

    http://www.makingpages.org/hoops/Malone.danger.html

Although I doubt it will even get read, it makes one feel better.

    Death to the Lakers!!!!!!

    A total travesty of justice!

Malone is an unrepentant (sp) school yard bully at best and a mock street thug at worst!!

He should have been suspended period!

I'll tell you what the problem is.

Anyone who's ever met Karl Malone talks about what a nice guy he is. I talked to someone the other day who lives in Long Beach near Malone's apartment, says Karl's a great dude.

You see this a lot. Walton on ESPN refused to call Malone a dirty player.

Off the court, I'm sure he's great. On the court, he's a d!ck, a headhunter, out to maim and destroy, and he gets away with everything. Always has. Always will.

You know, if I were making millions of dollars, I'll bet it would be really easy for me to be nice too. When you don't have to worry about money, almost anyone can be a pretty decent human being IMHO.

Nope, but I am a member of OPC's newsgroup. I may contribute an article about Shana Hiatt, if my girlfriend leaves town for a couple of days. :)

I've actually read a few things by reporters who claim that he's been a real ******* to them when the camera is off or the tape recorder isn't on.
