That is interesting. Good deal for Utah and Dallas both. What not Stockton?

I can't believe the Jazz want Raef for Malone. I used to be high on Raef, and I still think he's a solid player, but he's not an All-Star type in my book. He's not going to lead a team, and aside from having some shot-blocking skills doesn't seem to be the type of defensive big man most teams want. Granted, people know Malone wants out, but couldn't Utah get more for Karl? Oh well, whatever. I kind of like Dallas, but I won't anymore if this trade goes through. They should send the Mailman to the East. I don't want to see him get a title.

I don't know yet if I like that trade for Dallas. I dont think he'll give them what they're looking for.

I can see where you're coming from, but when you think Dallas and what they lack I always think "toughness". They all look and play like wusses. The thug known as Karl will definitely change that.

Thats true. A la Mason in Milwaukee? Another positive is that Finely and Dirk at good jumpshooters. Having Malone and the whirling dirvish known as Nash will definately help get them open looks.

It gets them more veteran experience too---Hardaway AND Malone.

Would they be better (on paper, on the court) than Sacramento?

Dallas also unloads Howard's fat contract. Obviously, Cuban doesn't mind, but cap-wise it could help.

I don't get it- Juwon or Raef is called rebuilding? Damn. Jazz are sucking now, but if they only get Juwon or Raef for Mailman? Lo-ter-ry. I think they should trade for some young stud, or if they are indeed getting some picks, they better be damn good ones.

Man, I hope he doesn't go to Dallas. They're already so good, and I like them as a team and I soooooo despise Karl. The midwest division would be absolutely sick- Wolves, Spurs, Mavs, Rockets....

I really hope they ship him to the east. Balance power a bit, keep him out of our conference.

I actually liked Dallas, but if that happens I'll hate dallas as much as the spurs, and no matter who was on the jazz I'll always hate those ****ers

    5) Bradley vs Divac - notable edge to Vlade
    4) Malone vs CWebb - I'll take Webber, but not by alot
    3) Nowitski vs Peja - tough call, edge Dirk
    2) Finley vs Christie - no response needed
    1) Nash vs Bibby - edge Nash

    bench - SAC (IMO)

It sure would be close. I'd root for the Kings though. Even though they're not from Texas. :)

Anyone got a feel for how well Bradley and Malone would do against Shaq?

Capwise, this trade would mean little. Malone makes 19 mil a season through the '03 season and Howard makes 20 mil a season through '03. Not much difference there.

I really don't like this trade. Partially because I am a minor Mavs fan living in Dallas (this would be destroyed if Malone was on the team), and partially because I don't think Malone gives the Mavs what it takes to win that elusive championship. Karla doesn't have enough productive years left for the Mavs to gel together to get that winning combo they need.

I also think this would be a bad trade for Utah, as they would break up the chemistry Malone and Stockton have together. Plus, as much as I hate Malone, he is a much better player than Howard, so Utah would be getting worse.

Both sides would be stupid to do this trade, in my opinion.

Howard is an mediocre ballplayer with a phat contract (see Cato except mediocre might even be a stretch)..Malone gives them veteran leadership and someone who has playoff experience. Someone needs to be there for the Mavs to teach them proper losing etiquette when losing to the Rocks in the playoffs and who better to do it than Malone!

From a Fantasy perspective, I hope Howard's numbers go shooting up :)
