Because people were mislead by the misleading title.

    Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA
So far, this is true: Orlando hasn't seen an offer from any team that it believes is enough to seriously consider trading Howard now.

    Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA
There isn't great enthusiasm within Magic that the Nets have the ability to make the most appeling offer for Dwight Howard, sources tell Y!

    David Weiner ‏@BimaThug
Actually, don't think a Nets-Magic trade is possible if it involves taking back Turkoglu. BYC issues for Lopez, Hump prohibit it on Nets end.

    John Hollinger ‏@johnhollinger
This entire Howard-BKN scenario smells more like a threat from Orlando to Houston, LA, Dallas, et al, to get their best offer in stat.

When Hollinger said that (his tweet was actually before Wojnarowski's), something clicked in my head. That's 100% true, I bet.

HOU, LA, DAL, ATL probably were all BS'ing with their offers. Wonder if ORL leaked this ****, knowing they wouldn't blink twice at Brooklyn's crap.

There is no way they trade Howard to the Nets just to trade him... of course they're looking for BDA (Best Deal Available) who wouldn't?

Lakers and Rockets are the best suitors, with the Hawks running a close 2nd/3rd.

Isn't it essentially the word of one reporter over the word of another? I'm not familiar with Broussard's reputation.

If there is any truth to the rumors of Lopez, Humphries, Brooks and picks, I can't imagine who is going to top that offer. The Magic would be getting three starters and three first round picks. Seems like a great offer to me.

Love to see Howard go to Lakers and Bynum end up here with our young players going to Orlando.

Nets offer isn't that great. Some variation of that [same] offer has been there from the start.

You mean the 28th pick of 2013 draft, the 29th pick of the 2015 draft and the 30th pick of the 2017 draft?

And they're all hoping Howard goes to Brooklyn, so they can break that story. Even though it most likely WON'T happen.

Yeah, they're basically going to be 2nd rounders. Actually worse than an early 2nd rounder because they'll cost more $$$ for the same caliber player.

Also, like Bima said it seems like it is not possible for them to execute that trade as listed. They need a third team to take Humphries.

Furthermore Brook Lopez is hot garbage.

Nice but, I think Du-Wayan Weigh-ed may be on the top of his list.

3 starters from a sub 20 win team and 3 super late first round picks.

Man, what an amazing way to rebuild....

I think that might be a little bit oversimplified. Brooks just completed his rookie season and averaged 13 points per game while playing less than 30 minutes per game. There is really no reason to believe he won't improve from year one to year two. Lopez didn't play last year due to injury so he wasn't a starter on a 20 win team last year. The year before his injury he averaged 20 points and 6 rebounds per game and he is still only 24. Finally, in his first year as a starter, Humphries averaged a double-double and he is only 26. We'll see what happens, but I don't think those are bad building blocks.

No matter where Howard goes, ESPN will claim to break the story. If Houston gets Howard: ESPN: "We've said all along...(blahblahblah)." And Broussard: "I've said all along...(blahblahblah)."
