Rumor is that Shaq want to go back to Orlando. TMac want to come to Houston. Houston has TE as trade enhancer. Interesting? In the middle of this trade, Houston may end up a winner. Who knows, a four-way trade may also be possible.
......*shakes head* if shaq wants to go to orlando it's b/c TMac would stay if shaq goes to orlando McGrady wouldn't need to come to houston
There's almost no way to trade Shaq to Orlando without another team, he just costs too much. If Shaq wants to go back to Orlando to retire in an easier confrence where he can dominate like no one else, then it won't matter so much if T-Mac is there. Hell maybe Kobe will sign with Orlando (unless of course the two actually hate each other.) A three way would be better for us, we would have to give up less, but we would probably have to take a big salary, maybe howard or Hill.
so you seriously think that, regardless of whether or not Tmac is there, he'd still want to go back to Orlando because it's home and it's a good way for him to dominate? I am pretty sure winning has to be a factor somewhere..and that's not going to happen if it's just him and a bunch of scrubs in orlando
If your Shaq in the East, it's not going to be that hard to make it past the first round in the playoffs. They also have a draft pick coming in, so he'll have a young, athletic front court player to play off of; something he hasn't seen in a while. He has a big contract and I don't think the Lakers will settle by taking a bunch of players with mid-salery contracts that will be on the books for a few more years. I can only seem them getting rid of Shaq for players on their last year.
i'd like to think that Shaq wouldn't want to be any part of a rebuilding team and that he would like to make it farther than just the first round. but that's just me. There are other viable options out there.
I thought of the same thing, except, we would have to send our francis mobley, cato package to LA while they send shaq to Orlando and We get Mcgrady, howard, lue
Lakers #1 offseason move is resigning Kobe, bringing in Francis and Cat would only make him run away faster. Plus, if Rudy gets the Lakers job, I think Kobe would resign immediately. Rudy is a players coach, unlike Jackson, and Kobe knows that Rudy would give him the ultimate-green light.
How about this three-way: Lakers receive: Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley, Kelvin Cato, Juwan Howard Lakers trade: Shaq, Derek Fisher Orlando receives: Shaq, Jim Jackson, Trade Exception, Rocket's future #1 Orlando trades: McGrady, Grant Hill, #1 pick (Okafor) Houston receives: McGrady, Grant Hill, #1 pick (Okafor), Derek Fisher Houston Trades: Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley, Jim Jackson, Kelvin Cato, Trade Exception, future No. 1 pick Why it benefits each team: Lakers - Kobe, Payton and Malone get a star point guard in Francis, plus some depth at positions of need. Steve, Cuttino and Cato would be reunited with Rudy T. Orlando - Brings home Shaq, dumps $45 million in contract obligation to Hill, frees up major cap space next year to bring in free agents to surround Shaq (especially if Shaq renegotiates his deal Garnett-style to free up a few million more in exchange for an extension). Houston - three studs 25 and under in Yao, McGrady and Okafor. Only happens if Les agrees to in all likelihood eat $45 million over the next three years in Grant Hill's salary.
