So disgusting. To kill people out of self-pity has got to be one of the most lowly crimes imaginable.
So sad. We could add another one to the already posted statistics but I'm not sure that +1 is not considered fake news or new math or devil science at this point. Hard to keep up. What's strange is that we (globally...ooops, another bad word) already went through this in the 60's-80's when there was true left-wing revolutionary terrorism sponsored throughout the globe: see the Red Brigades et al in Europe, the Middle East, various groups in most of Latin America, Africa and Asia, various antiwar types in the US and UK... Now we've got the other side doing their thing, and their mainstream supporters just simply refuse to care, at best.
One can even be all those things and still live vicariously through others' happiness, it's the outward projection of anger and bizarrely seeking out others to reinforce and validate their weird sense of aggrievance.
Where is the outrage over Black men who target young, impressionable white women? Statistically, these crimes are far higher. You'll find multiple cases in the news each week, in the past few days: https://nypost.com/2018/11/01/man-arrested-for-allegedly-forcing-missing-teen-into-prostitution/ https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2018/oct/23/university-of-utah-athlete-lauren-mccluskey-killed Why pick one side and ignore the other? Toxic masculinity is a problem on all sides.
Whataboutism and false equivalence strikes again. It's the difference of targeting people due to their race and just doing criminal things to people. It's an important distinction. Not to mention there are no black or liberal politicians advocating against white women with misogyny or racism. Get a clue.
Who exactly is getting triggered by us criticizing a murderous, self-admitted Incel? Don't tell me. If I have them on ignore, no sense in knowing which one (or more). Just interesting to ask what Incels post among us. Kinda creepy, TBH.
The only reasonable response to a man shooting up a yoga studio and killing innocent people inside is to condemn it and call it what it is, evil.
Bill Clinton advocated for it with his actions as President. He did what Trump did as a President of a nation, not a slimy businessman. Barack partied with Jay Z all the time... would you like to see what Jay Z has to say about women? Pretty much the exact same as the shooter in the OP, and he promoted guns as objects of power black men need. Hilary gladly took donations from Harvey Weinstein and praised his character even though everyone knew what his deal was. This ends up not being about race, but narratives within certain communities. And statistically, these "far right extremists" commit far less crimes but are painted as a far greater threat because the liberal media know that sells. It's not about right or left in these cases.... Your agenda's are further dividing the nation, instead of seeing things as they are.
"Where is the outrage over Black men who target young, impressionable white women?" I just quoted our @Senator asking this...so I'm just curious: Where is the outrage over miscegenation?
You can't be serious... Obama partied with Jay Z all the time? First, that isn't true. They met and talked I think it was 2 or 3 times. Even if it was daily, what Jay Z says in his songs about women isn't a reflection on anything to do with Obama and women. Also, Jay Z never claimed that black men needed guns. What an incredibly lame thing to say. Obama, like many white folks, was a fan of Jay Z. Hillary also gave all the money from Weinstein to women's charities. I am not sure why you think you are qualified to tell black people what the problem with their community is. You haven't shown that you have the slightest clue of what goes on in African-American communities. It sounds like you listened to FOX NEWS and AM talk radio talk about black communities and then decided that you knew what they were like and what needs to happen to fix all the "problems".
I promised myself that I wasn't going to comment on any more racial issues threads (although this is not what this started as ) because I realized I had my gut reactions about what was right (which I thought were pretty socially conscious) but others had different views, and nuances matter on profound issues. I have zero idea how to bridge the gulf between people arguing about racial issues. My only point is that this particular news item (like a lot of others) shouldn't be a racial issue thread. This guy and this event is horrible. This is a tragedy about another deeply disturbed and horrible person doing a horrible thing. And he is a white male spouting all kinds of disturbing and misogynistic messages. But seriously? Can't we all agree that this is terrible? I know the second post made it a Trump issue (MAGA) and I understand that there is a sentiment that Trump's rhetoric has somehow encouraged these events (so I am not criticizing the second poster). If everyone wants to debate whether Trump is or isn't responsible for an uptick, fine. But can we avoid the general racial debate that has been prevalent on this forum? I have no idea whether these kinds of terrible acts have gone up or down or stayed constant (or if there has even been sufficient time for legitimate data) during the current administration, but I know unfortunately we have been seeing this kind of lunacy for a long time. (If someone has real data, and not individual events, that might be worthy of a thread to debate.) But, we all know where this is going just from the last couple of days. There will be a lot of posts about how statistically whites make up the majority of the domestic terrorist acts and serial killings. Then, there will be a lot of posts with primarily black on black crime data. People will argue statistics matter or they don't based on what side they are on or what stats they are using. Nobody will convince anyone of anything. I'm an idiot for weighing in. But, this should not be used as an opportunity to regurgitate that "whites are dangerous" or that whites commit more domestic terrorist acts. The facts are what they are. Likewise, this should not be an opportunity to regurgitate other stats or general crap regarding other races. (Which happens all the time. And continues to happen. Which is why these threads exist. I get it. But, if people on this site don't get that point by now, using more individual tragedies isn't going to enlighten them.) There is a small minority of any race that engages in violent crime. We shouldn't take isolated incidents and draw conclusions damning any race, ethnicity or nationality. (Yes, the political ad centered around an illegal alien who was a violent criminal ps trying to do this exact thing and is crap. But, there is already a thread discussing that abomination. And I understand the power of showing the hypocrisy of people pointing to crimes perpetrated by minorities without recognizing that other crimes are proportionally perpetrated more by whites. But, somehow the discussion seems to veer from that point and just becomes more of an indictment than a lesson.) I don't even know if I have a real point other than it seems stupid and insensitive to take individual acts of inhumanity and extrapolate those. On all sides. Long post. Go ahead.
I was wrong. It started with posts about examples of individual acts of crime by blacks. But still, come on.
Maybe nowhere. My main point which may have been lost in the rambling is that pointing to anectodotal crimes or stats and extrapolating to make it a racial issue is wrong. If folks are using white crime to show why it is wrong to do it with other races, I get it. But sometimes the message seems blurred. I should have kept my promise. Sorry.
