What's up guys? So what do you think of Maddne 2003? I just got it a couple of days ago on XBOX, and I'm addicted to it already. I love the upgrades that Madden has added to it like, gang tackling, quicker spin moves, and the stiff arm. So what teams do you guys play with? I've played with the Texans but their defense is horrible. The only logical way to play with them is to get in a zone but then you'll still get burned for big yardage because of poor tackling. I've also tried the Redskins. Great defense but poor offense. I just wanted to see what you guys think of the game and what team do you play with.
I did a fantasy draft with the Texans...took Ogden first (15th pick), Ricky second and traded for Carr. I kicked major ass my first two games on the rookie level, 77-7 and 77-0, respecitively. Got my ass kicked on my first game on the pro level, 35-3. Then I beat the Eagles in my second game on pro level, 30-3. This is the first Madden game I've actually liked, even though I continue to buy them every year. I'd give it a little higher rating than NCAA 2003.
One thing about David Carr in this game is he is very accurate and has a very strong arm. Also, it seems like Jabar Gaffney catches everything.
I like the game a lot, I got it last Tuesday. The mini-camps are excellent and I like the sideline reporters. I am playing on the pro level and haven't lost yet. Let me explain... I think I am having issues with my XBOX. I got it last November after they came out and my XBOX will lock up on me sometimes and then other times tell me that my disc is dirty (even on a new game!). Then I just turn it off and turn it back on and it works fine??? It usually happens after I have been playing a couple of hours. Weird. So I called Microsoft - only a 90 day warranty... They said I could get it repaired for 99$ and 30$ for shipping. I told them BS I will just get a new XBOX for 199$. Anyone else have a problem like this? I figure I could just go to Wal-Mart or Best Buy and get a new system and swap the consoles out and return it- think they would notice? Back on topic - they are also several other threads about this game. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39245&highlight=madden http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=38592&highlight=madden
Really like the game so far. Very addicting. Played a full season with the Titans and got a 2000yard season and 25tds from Eddie. Got my ass handed to me in the playoffs by the chargers and their awesome d. Still learning how to beat people with the pass. The franchise is deeeep. Love the draft stuff. I screwed my team over last night because I didn't know how the salary cap worked now I have to make some trades.
That's what I loved about the fantasy draft. When it got down to the last 17 picks of the 47, I went with no one over $650,000. I've got $19 million in cap room for next year.
Im still waiting for the game to hit the stores over here (Australia) but I can not wait to get stuck into the franchise mode. Building a team in Madden must be one of the best things you can do in a sports game. I play with the Cowboys, but I will also have a go with the Texans. I add myself to the game as a corner back that plays offence and special teams....so I'll start with the Cowboys and the trade to the Texans just as they get their act togeather
I am expecting to ge tthe game soon. I have been so busy with real life football i haven't had time for fake football. I am glad to hear the positive reviews. I have a couple of questions about it though. When you start a franchise with the Texans do you start with an expansion draft and then a rookie draft or do the teams already have the rookies for this season on their rosters? Also how is the new training camp mode? It looks like it will be a cool concept to go across the country completing tasks. IS the play editor in it this year? I would love to design my own plays. Thanks for any help i can get answering these. CK
I'm addicted to the Madden Cards myself. I try to get the historic players, the historic teams, the stadiums and the all madden teams For John Elway you have to get gold in the all-madden level pocket presence drill, that took me forever, but I finally unlocked him. I've been taking my lumps in all-pro mode. I probably should be playing pro mode but I rellt wanna take lumps, that way when I become good, it will be much sweeter. I usually play with the Texans or the 98,97,91,89,87, or 86 Broncos. I love playing with Elway. RM, do you think you will still be in Austin with the Rockets regular season starts (that way we can go to Aussies at least a few more times)?
I have been anticipating this game for a while(Mainly because I'd like to double the size of my collection of games, Currently-One), but will probably wait until hits Sams' shelves for $30. Anyone know of some good games that I could find for about $30-$40?
JBII, unfortunately no. But I'll be back for all UT home football games and will make a few treks down. I hate the music...I'm trying to navigate the game, and it'll pop up with the name of the song, artist, etc.
1. rooks are already there. 2. haven't tried it yet but have heard good things. 3. play editor is in. haven't tried that yet either.
I think they might -- I know that on the Nintendo stuff they scan a sticker on the console that shows through the package. There may be some sort of connection between package identification and the console id itself as well. I don't know, but that's just a speculation. I've heard of quite a few people having their XBoxes stop working. hmm . . .
awesome game. If only EA could make NBA games as well as they do football games. by the way, 10 teams left in the Madden 2k3 sim, check the fantasy forum if interested.
Hey castor The play editor is AWESOME I thought it would be stringent like previous other games that had a similar feature, but it is very flexible. You can design your own formations, and then run plays out of that formation. The whole thing is done on a sort of grid, where you can place people just about anywhere, so long as it abides by NFL rules (7 guys on the line, etc.) You can even create custom routes for receivers to run, although they do have a bunch of basic formations/routes that you can plug in as well. Another thing that's cool is that you can test out the plays right after you make them to see how well they work. In other words you don't have to make a bunch of plays and then try them out in a live game. The version I played was on Gamecube, but once I get my PS2 fixed that will be the first game I buy.
not to promote this, but... i once swapped out dreamcasts at target. if you do it, you have to take off that barcode sticker off at the bottom of the new system and put it on the old one which of course you return and they scan as the original. works perfectly but you didn't hear it from me.
I may give this a try, I don't feel like I am stealing since I bought the system at Wal-Mart to begin with and I feel like they should honor their products.
Wal-mart has got a pretty lenient return policy... i'm jealous... i have no job, so i can't go out and buy Madden 2003... thus i'm stuck playing 2002 still... luckily my neighbor has 2003 and he got laid off with me, so we started a season together on his Xbox and play every afternoon.... I'm the Texans, he's the 49ers... I'm ready to get my a$$ spanked!
Thanks you just sold me on it. i am going to pick it up tonite. In the past our team(I coach at a H.S.) has run some real fun and odd formations. I would love to try them out on madden just to see if the defenses can adjust to them... CK
Yeah, my friend created that formation in which four receivers are stacked all on one side in a line. The one thing you can't do is move the offensive linemen around a la Oklahoma. But oh well.
