Madden 08 @ Univ. of Houston?

    I just got Madden08 for the ps3 yesterday. I live in apts that utilize the UH internet. I try to play online , the connections are REAL SLOW and im always getting disconnected!!! Could it be because of a school enabled firewall or is it just crappy Madden servers?

    What could I do to make my online experience better?

    Don't UH usually have those LAN parties?? Look around maybe they have a Madden LAN party coming up soon. Although good luck finding a non-Halo one.

    could it be the mandated school firewall thats affecting my online play? I will visit the IT dept. to see if they can lower the firewall or open up some ports.

    I wan to play madden lag free...and especially Live 08 on the oct 2nd!!!!!!!!!!

    They throttle the bandwidth. They aren't gonna do anything like that for you to play a game.

    UH throttled the bandwidth back in 03 because some idiots didn't patch their computer and the Blaster virus was flooding the network. We all had to drag our computers to Obertholtzer during the semester so IT could patch and install AV software

    I live in the quad and my internet is lightning fast.

    I didn't even pay the additional optional fees to upgrade.

    but do you have a 360 or ps3 hooked up to it? If so, what are games are you playing online?

    Im not worried surfing sites....i want to play madden with ease.
