For those of you who know me, you guys know I don't lie. I think I have a pretty good rapport with Clutchcity. I spoke with Sam earlier today, and he expects to be in a........... Rockets uniform next week. Now he said it is not for sure, but he has been having ongoing talks with teams, and due to the inconsistent play of Williams and Amderson, they want to bring him back. There are still some teams out there courting him, New Jersey, Miami and Indiana to name a few, but he has had his heart with the Rocks since the get go. Again I am not predicting this, but this is what he told me. I believe him, so please don't rip me for lieing, i just tell you what I hear. I for one like the idea of him coming back, we need the long ball. I hope it goes down. Obviously this is not in writing or eched in stone, but it is the first bit of progress on this subject we have heard in a while. Hope this keeps you guys happy, more as I hear. I will talk with him again tommorrow, so we will see!

Actually it's funny, I do cover the rockets when I do my reporting, but I met him at a restaurant a couple of weeks back, and we just started talking and started to hang out, so when I am in Houston we talk, and go out and stuff. Job related but not really.

Thanks for the info Puff! Lets hope that Mack and the Rockets can get this deal worked out. The Rockets really need him, and its not like we would have to spend a fortune to get him either.

I don't think we should trade Walt Williams. Rather than trading him, maybe we should put him on the injured list and until he comes out of his slump. Unless we get a great deal of course.

Guys lets not jump the gun yet. He might be having wishful thinking, but where would we play him. I know they are talking to him, but I have not heard of any deals under the table. Doubt they will trade anyone. Shandon needs minutes, Walt will get his, Cat will have to get his. Carlos plays the 3 sometimes, so it's really crowded. My only thought is that they are scared that Steve's injury might be worst than at first thought. Maybe ofcourse, which would mean, Cat would have to move to the one again, leaving the backup 2 / 3 open. Just a thought. But maybe a trade is in the works. Hopefully they just covet his 3pt. shooting

if we do sign mack, i think we need to start him. Then, cat and walt will come in for shandon and mack. Carlos should still get his minutes by playing the 4 and sometimes the 3.

THIS IS ALL REAL SAD. WE HAVE TOO MANY GOOD PEOPLE TO PUT THEM INTO GOOD ROTATIONS. AND WE ARE STILL LOSING.

    SAM MACK CAN NOT START!!!!!!
WE NEED A ATHLETIC 3. NOT A DAMN PLAYER WHO STANDS AT THE 3 and WAITS FOR THE BALL TO COME IN HIS HANDS>....

Sam might not be an all-everything SF, but let's not group him in with Bull (spot-up and shoot), his D is not worse that Walt's, and he can run the break, even though he's not electrifyingly fast.

What in blue blazes has taken the Rocket's so long to figure out that they need Sam Mack? I have been screaming for him to return since before the preseason began!!!! Even on paper it was obvious to me that they needed a shooter before we ever took the court for the first preseason game.

  15. Francis3...and what exactly do you think the Rox have starting at the 3 spot now???

Nice thing about Mack's game, is unlike what Francis3 thinks, Mack has a bit of atheleticism to him. Are you guys forgetting who was the only player catching the dump out pass and pump faking then driving to the lane last year? His D isn't good, but it isn't bad either. More of a middle of the road type.

The prospect of grabbing Mack is enticing because he truely is a shooting guard. Now you can have Mack back up Anderson, or even Walt in spells. Have Mobley play more back up minutes at the point, where he has to realize that shooting 18 times in a row is not beneficial. Let Drew get minutes at the point or shooting guard spot. Best of all is he's a guy who is going to make teams pay by actually hitting the outside shot. Regardless of what some people think of Mobley's greatness, he still is only hitting around 37 percent from the field, and so is Drew. Thats horrible even for you backups.

Thanks for the info puff. I was wondering what happened to Sam Mack -- I thought that Thomas Hamilton ate hik (boy is that guy fat).

Actually, I think that Mack would be great for the team.

    Starting five of

    Cato
    Barkley
    Mack
    Anderson
    Francis

Mack is clearly the best outside shooter of the five and he can drive to the basket. He complements everyone's game out there.

And then we can finally sit Walt Williams ass on the bench where it belongs.

Do I see any connection to Clutch´s announcement and the Mack signing?

Perhaps the Rockets will have SMack running Clutch City ???

Mack can shoot the 3s and drive a little, but he is not what we need the most, we are doing way too many 3s, over or near 20 3s a game, and that is not a good sign, that means
we live and die beyong the arc. Plus, Sam Mack is quite inconsistent at 3 point shooting last year, he shot like 7-8 one night and the next night 1-7. I found myself dosappointed at him hoping him to fill the hole quite often.

Even so, he is clearly a upgrade over Walt the way things are going, how many point blank layups has Phantom (Walt's new nick for his shadowy existence.) missed?

We should trade Mack along with others, or get Mack thentrade Walt and Drew for a vetaran point guard, a guy like Terry Porter is all we are missing I believe.
