Any ideas on what they'll be announcing in half an hour at the "Back to the Mac" event? Here are some predictions: The Apple Store is down and its “Back to the Mac” event will start in an hour, or: 10 a.m. PT, 11 a.m. MT, 12 p.m. CT, 1 p.m ET. While Apple likely pulled out its biggest remaining guns of 2010 back in September, we still expect to see some significant products announced today. Over the past several days, Mashable has run an open thread asking for opinions on what will be announced today. Answers ranged from the mostly wishful to the completely possible. Here are a few of your best Mac-centric predictions: * Blu-ray for OS X * iWork ‘11 * FaceChat OS X integration * App Store for OS X Based on product cycles and some educated guesses, Mashable believes that “Back to the Mac” will showcase: * OS X Lion – Likely a developer’s preview of version 10.7 of Apple’s operating system. * iLife ‘11 – Featuring updates of iPhoto, iMovie and iWeb, with iDVD likely falling out of the lineup. * New MacBook Air – Potentially an entirely new model as well a refresh of the current size. * Modest MacBook/MacBook Pro Revisions – We’re thinking updates to CPUs and GPUs, particularly among the 13-inch models. Apple has also just confirmed that its “Back to the Mac” event will be live streamed from Apple.com.
www.macrumors.com is saying the same thing. iLife '11, new Air, new OS X 10.7, and also something about 10.7 getting iOS scrollbars. There's also a mention of a new app that's going to be a Dropbox killer. Can't wait to see. Not too interested in the Air, I have a pretty new MBP and won't be buying one for a while (years maybe, because Mac's last you that long unlike PC's which last you like one year because of all the virus and bacterial infections it gets and the immune system just succumbs causing multiple organ failure and death). I'm more interested in the OS X. I hope it gets released ASAP and has some crazy new things in it. And it better not cost more than $29 for an upgrade from 10.6.
^^^HAHAHAHAA don't you guys have to upgrade your anti virus software or reinstall Windows 7 or something?
I'm away from home working, and so all I have is a PC.....no Mac Access. Perhaps some of you kind gentlemen (or ladies) could give close to real time updates in this thread seeing as the streaming video will only be available to Macs.
OS X is easily my preferred platform, but Windows is nowhere near that bad. It makes you look as clueless as Cowboy Bebop about Macs. I'm mostly just interested in any new features in OS X 10.7. I had no idea about a 'Dropbox killer.' Sounds interesting too but if it's not free and multiplatform I won't switch. You can follow with live video commentary here: TWiT Live
Jobs is as anti-Blu Ray as anyone. He's convinced that HD content should be/will be all digital. Who knows
Here we go again with stupid Apple fanboys calling me out. I'm clueless? So enlighten me with your overprice Macs? Oh yeah. It's better because it's nicer looking? What I usually get out of people who own a Macs are idiots who doesn't know how to put a computer together or because they think Macs are better because of the services. Just because it look nicer and giving your better services doesn't make it better as a personal computer or the price that you're paying it for. I don't have a problem with Apples. I have problems with misinformed Apple fanboys.
Old Macbook Air: 1.86 Ghz or 2.13 Ghz Core2Duo processor New Macbook Air: 1.4 Ghz or 1.86 Ghz Core2Duo processor LOL at going backwards.
What's the point? You've already assumed I'm a fanboy and an idiot about computers. Keep foaming at the mouth with some irrational anger about a product. BTW, somehow I've made a living primarily using Microsoft's .NET platform
