I'm hearing this from some people I know -- still waiting on confirmation from some news sites, but this could be a reality . . . I'm hearing that it's Win ME, XP Home, and certain versions of 2000. If this is true, it will be VERY interesting . . .
Yea, V, what do you mean by "pulling"? Do you have any more info? Sounds kind of outrageous they way it was posted...
Pulling -- removing from the shelves. I'm getting some rumors that Microsoft is going to be pulling Windows ME and XP off of the shelves. I'm still looking for more concrete confirmation, so don't accept this as fact. In fact, I don't think it's true, but this is what I'm hearing from some IT people I know . . . it may just be someone's wishful thinking, but I've heard it from more than one person . . . More as it becomes available . . .
None of these had the rumor: a Seattle newspaper site a San Jose newspaper site CmdrTaco Give us a link. Mango
Yeah, it's not on the internet, on any news sites yet. That's why I'm suspicious about it. However, I've heard this from 3 people. One said he heard it on the radio, another heard from one of his parts vendors, and the other one heard it from the head of IT in his office. I'm watching this closely though. So far, I've seen (and I can confirm these): MS being sued for security problems (or trying to be sued) MS .NET virus to demonstrate security problems in an unreleased programming language MS Being sued over the pocket PC If this MS WinME and XP thing is true, it would be an interesting capper to the day.
If this was even REMOTELY true, this would be plastered all over the web by now: from Drudge to NY Times. Vengeance said himself he didn't believe it... There's no way; something like this could crush the economy...and would be front page news...
