The Crue were great back in the day (and The Dirt might be the most entertaining book ever), but that song straight up sucks
I'm not going to pretend that the song is that great, but it's cool to hear them on the radio again. The sound is cool at least; Vince sounds like SATD era on this one. Anyone heard Sixx AM? They have a single that's been in the top 3 on rock radio for like 50 weeks.
Not that big a fan, but I do dig some of their songs, especially the previously posted Kick Start My Heart. I would be ok with "modern (the crap on the Buzz) rock" if it sounded more like that. I was listening to Rod Ryan interviewing Nikki Sixxx and the singer of Papa Roach and he was talking about how much he and his band loved Motley Crue and all I could think of was if they can't make any decent music, at least emulate the Crue and do something fun instead of whining about mommy and daddy etc. Speaking of, do fans of Papa Roach consider themselves emo? Every lyric I manage to understand sounds just as melodramatic as an emo kid.
I wish the Poo Crue would just die already. Maybe if this album flops...we won't have to hear from them again. To me, they died a long time ago...like Dec. 31st, 1989.
Doubtful. They still do quite well on tour. Top 20 Touring Artists of 2005 1. The Rolling Stones 2. U2 3. Celine Dion 4. Paul McCartney 5. Eagles 6. Elton John 7. Kenny Chesney 8. Dave Matthews Band 9. Neil Diamond 10. Jimmy Buffett 11. Mötley Crüe 12. Green Day 13. Toby Keith 14. Rascal Flatts 15. Bruce Springsteen 16. Gwen Stefani 17. Coldplay 18. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers 19. Barry Manilow 20. "Anger Management Tour"
I guess so. For the life of me, I don't understand who their audience is. I guess the young ones are growing up on them all over again. God forbid there are late 30-somethings and early 40-somethings going to these shows. As far as the new song, just heard it and...hated it.
Quit being an idiot. You know very well it's the older crowd going to their shows, just like the crowd at a Rush show. Stick to commenting about that piece of **** band.
Hey freakshow...have you been to a Rush show lately? It's a bunch of Dads bringing their kids. It's turned into a regular family affair. Parents shape the music their kids get into. It's not all that unreasonable to believe a new generation of teenagers is getting into the Crue. So, quit calling people idiots when you apparently don't know all the facts. Besides, Motley Crue has always been the hair band who was more into being immature jackasses than actually producing the best music they can. They're an easier band to grow out of. Rush has always been about the music. Don't even mention them in the same breath.
Yeah Rush has always been about the music. It just sucks. No, I haven't been to one of their shows - that's the reason I don't post in threads about Rush. I'm weird like that.

Ok in addition to the Radiohead obsession we share, it seems like we have a lot of the same interests when it comes to music. I LOVED The Dirt. I also highly recommend The Heroin Diaries if you haven't already read it.
I'm pretty excited about this album and tour. I got some shots of Nikki when he was in town last year promoting his book.
While the book is almost assuredly entertaining, the album SIXX AM, SUXX. There is one good song and arguable a second. That's about it.
No, have not read that book. I'll have to check amazon and will buy a copy. Speaking of Radiohead, did you download that DVD of the West Palm Beach show? A guy got a camcorder in there and recorded the entire show, and didn't do a bad job of it...
