I cannot believe what I saw last night. This kid has some mad skills. His tenacity to the basket was downright vertran style. He had a J and his speed and court vision was awesome. I kept telling my wife this kid is what we have been looking for a in a point guard rookie.

Luther keep it up. Dont let this night be a 1 hit wonder :)

Could have just added your comments to the game thread.

But I really liked what I saw from Luther tonight. He played a very solid overall game: 13points 2 rebounds 3 assists 2 steals in 15 minutes. Sure it's preseason, but his defensive intensity is going to earn him some minutes if he can keep it up. He has really quick hands that could really disturb some offensive minded guards. He's also got a lot of energy which could be needed.

If I were JVG, I would play him as much as possible now to see if he can contribute during the season.

I know you guys are going to flame me for saying this, but i see a Ron Artest type player in Head. After watching him running around trying to block and steal balls and running and controlling the team. He has the D, he has the shot and the fire to become an Artest type player. I guess you can call that the best scenario for Head.

Bear in mind, the preseason is where a lot of players start ramping up their conditioning for the actual season. Case in point:

<a href="http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=102740"><blockquote><i>"I'm enjoying it each day. Of course it hurts, but it's supposed to. This is something I enjoy, I appreciate and I love," he said. "When I hurt the knee, I was in 82-game playing (shape). No one right now, including myself, is in 82-game playing shape. That's what we're working toward."</blockquote></i></a>

I'd like to see Luther get some time against Orlando's 1st team tonight. It's good he can dominate scrubs, but I say throw him into the fire a few times in the preseason to see how he does.

JVG commented that Luther could have passed more last night, but look who he was playing with. You put John Stockton into that situation and he would have shot the ball a lot too.

judging from most peoples reaction, head = winner?
when we drafted him im sure the initial reaction was, who is head? (thats how I felt at least).

im still in shock on how we were able to turn this team around 360. im glad the dark ages are finally over and gone. well, I still want a couple of players gone, but their not starters so its ok.

head was pretty good yesterday... i love the quickness, lots of steals... the passing isn't all the way there yet and you can tell it's not a natural thing for him...

what do you think his upside is?

    stephon marbury?

Yo, after 1 game, he's our future PG? I was very impressed w/ his debut, but I wouldn't jump to assumptions just yet.

He can grow his role to be another instant offense Mike James...

i tihnk his driving, shooting, and defence are on par to equal mike james in the next year or so. his passing and leadership will make him and even better player.

Skip is our PG of the immediate furture... Luther is more of a SG. Whether he is our starting SG of the future or a sparkplug off the bench no one knows... but he did look good out there!

I agree Skip was NICE last night. I definitly want him to be are pg for as long as he plays like that. I think Luther would do well as a defensive minded sg. Is he taller than wesly? I'm sure he is since wesly is so short. I could see a lineup of:

    Rafer
    Head
    T-Mac
    Stro
    Ming

    in a year or so.......ofcourse

We've turned this team around 360??? CRAP...I thought we were getting better. I guess we need to start working on another 180. ;)
