Luke Ridnour toiled through his worst season since his rookie year and has about $13 million remaining on the final two years of his contract. That's an expensive potential third-string point guard. A trade could be in the works, with Cleveland, Denver, Houston and Miami annually looking for an upgrade at point guard. http://newsok.com/presti-has-some-b...ore-start-of-season/article/3278600?mp=1&pg=1
Yeah but what are you willing to give up for that? That is alot of money to trade for. You will have to give up someone.
I checked on realgm trade checker- francis+novak+head for Luke Ridnour works Maybe OKC can throw in a 2nd round pick (high 2nd rd pick). I would do it, I rather have Ridnour than Francis as a back up, plus u get rid of head and novak. New roster PG- Alston/Ridnour/Brooks SG-Tmac/Barry/Battier SF-Artest/Battier/Harris PF-Scola/Landry/Hayes C-Yao/Dorsey/Deke Ridnour had a bad year only last year, he only played 61 games and started 5 of them. He averaged 10 pts and 6 assists in the 04-05 season. He averaged 12 pts 7 assists in the 05-06 season. He averaged 11 pts 5 assists in the 06-07 season. If healthy Ridnour can be a great backup point guard. He doesn't have a bad history of injuries just last year and his rookie season. Heres his scouting report http://hoopshype.com/players/luke_ridnour.htm
I'd prefer Lowry from Memphis. They also have an excess of PGs, and they seem to enjoy getting screwed over by the rest of the league.
I always like Ridnour his first few years in the league... Yes, he had a down year last year, but if we would trade for him he could clear roster spots and he would be an expiring contract after next season.
Can we go after Delonte West? I know he's not a true true PG but he does have some handles and can shoot the ball with great assist number for limited min.
I agree. Though I'd probably want more than just one early 2nd rounder, Head alone is worth that, let alone taking on Ridnour's bad contract for 2 years. I'd say the trade above--Head, Novak, Francis for Ridnour + Sea 2nd/2009 and an extra late 1st round pick (via SA next year, or via Phx in 2010--both which Seattle own) would do it for me. Ridnour has a bad contract, yes, but he could be a contributing player to a decent team. If we don't plan on using Barry some at PG (I am darn sure Francis won't contribute as a PG, he was always more of a tweener even in his peak), I'd consider this. Basically we hope either Brooks or Ridnour becomes the offensive back-up we need to support Rafer.
