Once Rick Adelman finally put Scola into the starting lineup at the PF spot the Rockets have gone 6-0, and averaged 100ppg, while surrendering only 90.83ppg.

One of the biggest worries about Luis was his defense, but he has adjusted well to the NBA game and their refs and is now an above average defender.

And his offense....OMG...his offense, he is like having a Jason Kidd type of player at the PF position in that he is about 2 or 3 moves ahead of most everyone on the floor.

He is very smart, and can not only finish, but his passing has helped others in the lineup get better shots too.

Luis Scola has proven to be invauable.

    6-0.....and 100ppg.....now that is Scolatastic !!

Great thread. I really like Scola, but I think the player who has equally been valuable to the Rockets is Landry. His defense isn't great, but he gives T-Mac the same easy target down low and unlike Hayes actually FINISHES THE PLAYS OFF! He also gives us some of that consistent midrang ejumpshooting the we lost with Howard.

But yeah, i am very happy with both of these guys...HUGE improvement from the Hayes/Howard duo IMO.

Landry and Scola are getting better on both ends of the court because they are putting a good effort every time they are on the court. We are also lucky to have Hayes' defense and rebounding as well.

Gonna be fun to watch this team with Scola and the rest of the team grow closer and closer together.

Rockets are 6-1 since Scola moved into the starting lineup. 5-0 with Yao and Tmac in the starting lineup.

Yeah he really brings a lot of energy to the court. His motor is going constantly. I've lost count on the hustle plays this guy has made, he always seems to stick his nose in for a rebound or a steal when we need it.

On top of his hustle, his footwork in the paint is very well polished. He is like Olajuwan like that. :D

Scola is a very good player and has been a superstar in the Argentine team.
Landry will be very good also. If Hayes could just pick up his offensive skill
by training harder than we have a very deep PF bench. I just hope Hayes will practise hard (with broom as shown in some pictures) and improve his offensive skill so that he can put in lay up consistently and improve his lay up to be as good as ginobili (possible?).

Scola is becoming one of my favorite players on the Rockets. The dude always playing hard and never gives up on any plays. He releases the defensive pressures on Yao by playing well early and that has been key to the turn around. He can only get better once he has the off season to work on his short jumpers and free throws. With Scola, Landry, and Hayes no one can say the Rockets are a soft team anymore. Thank you Spurs!

Yeah, all he needs to do is to improve his FT% to 70%.

scola isan above average shooter with good form, and i have no doubt he'll be able to improve his FT shooting.

Most of the time FTs are an issue of being able to devote time to practicing and concentrating. Rookies have so much going on with the day to day grind that free throw shooting gets pushed to the side a little bit.
