Luis Scola was simply unstoppable on almost every posession. He hustle on the floor and on the board. If Ginobli did not reinjured his ankle, i think the US got something to worry about.
28 points along with 11 reboudns and 2 steals and 2 blocks. This with the US team throwing everyoen on their team at him to guard him. He's unstoppable. He made some crazy shots too. Most memorable one is a drive baseline and he had to put up a reverse no look that went in. Simply amazing.
Unstoppable is the right word. He abused the USA front line. Like a crappy slow Olajuwon finding a way to make a sexy move and put the ball in the hole.
Rockets fans have to be ecstatic with that performance. He was the best player on the court in this game.
Nice!!!! Man, I can't wait for this season! You know whats really fun to do?? In NBA 2K8, playing online, with the Rockets of course (one of the known cheese teams), and people expect you to tear them up with Yao and Tracy, but instead you drop 20+ with Luis and they're like whaaaaaat. Yao with 16&10, Tracy with 12&9(assists) and Luis with 30 points WHATTTT!!! lol
Yeah, I was watching the game going, "YES!" every time Scola did something awesome. Then, I went, "Wait, no!" It felt good to watch this game.
the string of awesome performances scola has put up in the olympics just gets me excited for hte next season.
Seeing Scola these Olympics has me extremely optomistic for the upcoming season. Hopefully Landry re-signs and that situation gets resolved rather quickly, but we are more than capable of holding down the paint with what we currently possess if he happens to walk. In Scola we have our offensive 4 that we've constantly been looking for the past few seasons. Long gone are the days when Hayes blows the open layup after receiving the pass from T-Mac or Ming. (hopefully) Not only that but his jump shot looked extremely potent last night against the US - he CAN spread the floor for Yao to operate inside. I know he isn't the tallest PF but he proved last night he can handle his business inside against the likes of Bosh. I'm more than happy for Ron to operate at the 4 for spot minutes throughout games - but i'm confident in having Hayes having some minutes too. Regardless of his offensive deficencies - hopefully with our lineup next season he'll be coming into the game with a healthy lead so - although not acceptable - it won't be too horrendous if he misses some of the gimm'es. We are all in agreement that he is a phenomenal defender. With those 3 i'm more than happy with how our PF rotation looks - of course i'd be a lot happier of Landry is back - but like previously mentioned, it's not the end of the world. And the Rockets will be able to handle any team that matches up to us.
