I know everyone is talking about his Dub-dubs these days but his rebounding is now freakish. Even more so when you have the tallest center in the NBA on your team.

He has amazing anticipation and great hands for a big man.

If he was more of a focus he could be a 17-20 ppg and 10+ rpg player....

We are lucky to have him on the Rockets.

I wonder if Yao Ming has a direct effect on Scola's rebounding. I haven't been able to see many of the games lately, but is Scola's man sliding over to guard Yao in the post, thus freeing up Scola for more rebounds?

Regardless, I wish we could have had Scola over here about 5 years ago....

Scola is quickly becoming one of my favorite players. Gotta love his hustle and passion for the game.

Still can't believe Spurs could have Manu and Scola. Sucks for them!

I used to discount his rebound numbers because he used to get cheap ones. Pulling them away from Yao or get open court ones. But now he is pulling them away from people, sometimes by outjumping them. It is amazing.

One of Morey's finer moments. I still can't believe what our pf combo has become, compared to what it used to be. Remember when they actually missed Juwan Howard in the Dallas series. Unbelievable. No shot at Juwan, he was a professional. But they have defenitely stepped up in talent.

I was just talking about him with one of my friends yesterday- Scola has quietly become a beast on the low block.

I am hoping for the same type of performance from our new PG duo.

Luis is a rebounding machine. The guy never gives up on a play or a lose ball. You've got to love that effort as a fan.

Scola from what I've observered this year has been unbelievably consistent.

He can create with efficiency from the low post and/or at the top of the key. He is extremely savvy around the basket.

Is it me or does he seem very refined in his overall game?

He did well in the playoffs last year also. I expect big things from him this season. I would not be surprised if he put up 17/12 in the playoffs this year.

He is Otis Thorpe 2.0. I know he has almost nothing in common with OT but they both get the job done quietly and efficiently.

Your "DD = Chris Farley Lives" is funny cause I still haven't seen DD's vids but that is exactly what I pictured he'd look like. LOL

The answer on how he get his rebounds is not because he has height, jumps high, great positioning or box out well. The answer is his determination and that he never gives up.

I love what Scola's doing and he's constantly improving his NBA game.

It seems like he's getting better at shooting over defenders. He was getting blocked far too often for a 6'10 player (6'9 without shoes but never got an "NBA measurement") last season and the first half of this season. Those tricky underhanded shots are great but not if you do it all the time. He's also using his left hand more. I think his constant effort and desire to get better has helped him adjust to this league relatively quickly.

The one area that he could stand to improve upon that would take him to the next level is his man-to-man interior defense. He has enough strength and lateral quickness to do better. Duncan is slower than molasses yet is elite in this respect. Scola is already doing well as a help defender. I'd just love to see him take the next step forward when it comes to defending the paint.

Man, I don't know where the Rockets would be without Scola. He truly was a steal and a Godsend.

As dominant as Yao is, Scola has been our best player this season IMO.

Scola is pretty much automatic from inside the paint now. As the season has progressed his outside shot has become very dependable. I remember early in the season it seemed he shot better at home; this is not the case now.

    He's a basketball machine!

Only Rocket to play in all 61 games.
Number 3 scorer if we omit McGrady's mini-season.
    Number 2 rebounder.
    Number 3 in FG% (53%).
    23 double doubles.
Improved numbers across the board over his rookie year with only 5 minutes more PT.

In all honesty, I consider him the second most important player on the team this season.

Scola is definitely one of my favorite players on the team, if not my favorite.

Every basket, steal and rebound is a result of him just bringing more energy and hustle to his game then most every other player on the court. While not a superstar level freak, Scola is probably just a hair under that level with his athleticism and just learning how different the NBA is.

He is only in his second year and his stats are nuts compared to any other international player or hyped up rookie sensation to appear in the league around the same time, especially given the fact that there is little to NO hype for him.
