Lately every day the word " loyalty" is being tossed around in sports. Isn't it hypocritical to ask loyalty of our athletes to be on the same team , take less money , sacrifce their earning potential for a long career.

Majority of the people don't care about loyalty when it comes in regards to more $$ , better position , better career growth , better companies , better quality of living in various cities.

I think people need to look into mirror first before being hypocritical in regards to Loyalty , Cheating on Spouses , criminal activity , domestic violence where even our regular citizens are committing daily .

But Loyalty is more of a discussion here rather than the others I mentioned. Others are too" touchy "for this section on the forums.

Loyalty is a two way street, and it is never tested until something else offers a better choice or opportunity.

As the times change, it's generally better to establish what kind of relationship is expected both from you and to you. Setting expectations makes it's harder to cause a misunderstanding given that both parties are working in good faith.

    WHOA WHOA WHOA.

If you WORK for a certain company and it's a business, there's no such thing as "loyalty", it's just business.

In personal matters like relationships and such, where there is no intended interest in benefit, like spouses, LOYALTY plays a big part.

If an athlete says "I love this town, this city, its people. I never want to leave" and suddenly that athlete gets asked to join another team who offers a lot more money, you'll question that loyalty about loving those things he said he loves.

Personal and emotional feelings come into play with loyalty, not business.

    Loyalty can exist in business.

The Astros can win the World Series. It's about as likely as loyalty existing in business.

Rarely will a well run business display loyalty to its own detriment.
