Right now the Rockets are stacked at the SF position with Griffin, Bull, Morris, Wizard and Langhi. However, the Rockets are extremely uncertain at the center position.Assuming they resign Mutumbo and MacCullough (and don't trade Geiger), the 76ers are strong at the center spot but lack any consistent outside shooting. With these things in mind, would you trade Langhi for the rights to Alvin Jones? Philly gets a good outside shooter and Houston gets an inside banger/shot blocker. The reason I like Alvin Jones (although I have no illusions that he is a permanent answer at the center spot) is because he has a mean physical streak to him. He's the type of player who could come in for 10-15 minutes and really wear out the opposing center. True he has no offense, but we have enough scorers on the Rockets anyways. Might not be a bad trade, but I love Langhi too much to trade him. ------------------ PrEsident of The Danforth Langhford FAN CLUB... He IS our future All-Star Small Forward
Langhi should really come on with playing time. Let's not unload him before he has a chance to succeed. Despite last year's frenetic airballs, he has a great shot, great hops and a tough kid. I'm a Vandy alum and followed his career closely; he wasn't SEC player of the year by accident.
I honestly hope they don't trade Langhi after just one season. Give him at least another season to show improvement if not another 2 years to do so. The mismatch problems that a lineup with Langhi and Griffin in it could cause could be a thing to behold. Of course, everybody's got that albatross called "potential" dangling from their necks, so he may never live up to my expectations or hopes.
