I've been a fan since Newlin/Murphy era. My nephew died with a Jim Petersen jersey close to his chest. Its been a long time since I have seen 'light' around this team ... but from the first few games of this season ... way to quickly to say it ... but this team NOW has the makings of a true contender. The back court can score points with anyone. We have a true dominant inside presense now with Ming/Cato/Griffin. A healthy Kenny Thomas should return to us a pick and role partner for Steve. If Nachbar or Rice can find 3 point range. Of if Cuttino will simply limit the number of forced shots he takes each game, I think the team can win 50 and compete for a second round berth in the playoffs. Its nice to have a real reason for optimism. And while it may still be ugly basketball, I will take ugly wins over beautiful losses any day.
