"Darkness" by Lord Byron was always a big hit with the gothic chicks. But if you're looking for more conventional love poetry, go with something by Shelley. The fountains mingle with the river, ...And the rivers with the ocean; The winds of heaven mix forever, ...With a sweet emotion; Nothing in the world is single; ...All things by a law divine In one another's being mingle:-- ...Why not I with thine? See! the mountains kiss high heaven, ...And the waves clasp one another; No sister flower would be forgiven ...If it disdained its brother; And the sunlight clasps the earth, ...And the moonbeams kiss the sea:-- What are all these kissings worth, ...If thou kiss not me? .....Love's Philosophy by Percy Bysshe Shelley (1772-1822)
Well, what exactly are you asking for here? Do you want some long, love-professing poem, or do you want some quick, short, witty mushy poem? And are you looking for published poems or something one of us could just freestyle here? If you're looking for original work, at least give us some tips on what to include in it. Unless you're specific, any input we give you at this point would just be a shot in the dark and you would end up with some meaningless poem. I'm betting on gushy and that it doesn't really matter if it has been published before because your boyfriend probably wouldn't recognize it anyways...
I'm looking for quick, short, witty mushy poem. (or anything good) Background: high school sweethearts, 4 year relationship, if we broke up i'd stop getting out of bed, think about him 24/7
This site has quite a few love letters written by historical figures -- maybe you could swipe some mushy stuff from them: http://www.theromantic.com/LoveLetters/main.htm
That, on the other hand, was unmistakably witty N_A: I'll see what I can find, but I'm with my significant other right now and she's pissed that I've been on this computer the last hour so I might not be able to do much just right now.
Send him some nude photos of you. Guys find true beauty in nude photos of their girlfriends, especially when they are apart and need something to look at while they work on their calluses.
Man, I put a letter in the mail for him every night. My clock is ticking. so far I have "I love you, I love you. I can never express it as much as I feel it."
Hell, just post them here. It might inspire some poet that would have otherwise passed on this opportunity to help out.
He's in Navy bootcamp and he's already told me in one letter that they're not down with that there. Thanks Mrs. JB & Dallas As for the rest of you... Pft.
Here's a couple that I found, (and I may need to use one myself here in a minute or risk not gettin' any) but they might not be exactly right for you. Good luck though, I gotsta go... Beauty is in the heart. Life is where it starts. Death is the end. The present is here. The future is there. The past is behind. Amid these things, You're my peace of mind. I sit here all alone thinking of you Thinking about all the ways you're special to me and about the way it used to be Thinking about our long conversations and about our situation Thinking about your lovely face and about the way you take me away to that beautiful place Thinking about all your caring ways and about how much i miss you every single day I miss and love you dearly but all i can do is sit here all alone thinking of you
Ahh... I see... well in that case then I suggest you draw upon the vast library of romance that the great Axl of the Rose composed many a year ago: Turn around ***** I got a use for you Besides you ain't got nothing better to do And I'm bored.... Touches the soul that man doth.... I'm just kidding. My brother is a pilot in the Navy now and I remember when his wife would write him every day. That is nice of you. Wish I had a girl like that. So the way I deal with it is disturbing humor. You know how it is with us unlovables...
