Anyone drive between Houston and Austin this past weekend or the weekend before knows what Im talking about (from about Brenham to Giddings)

These sex maniacs were out in force, leaving hundreds of squashed black and orange guts all over my 4Runner. I spent 10 mintues using the high pressure rinse at the do-it-yourself car wash.

    Anyone else experience the wrath??

Today, after my 8 o'clock, i bought a pastry and a coffee and sat outside to eat it for breakfast. Not long after I sat down, I was swarmed and they were after my pastry. I had to toss it, but at least those bastards were stuck to the frosting and they paid for ruining my breakfast with their lives...

Yeah, my best friend and her fiance came to visit me, but I couldn't recognize their car because it was covered in so much bug guts. I was trying to look for a blue mustang, but all I could see was this filthy mustang that could have been blue or black or purple or grey for all I knew.

Make sure they scrape it off. Love Bug guts can cause your paint to come off if they stay on too long.

Leave something big and white out on your lawn during lovebug season then check on it a few hours later.

It's like something out of a horror movie.

Try letting your car sit overnight, it will cool and condensation will form--you can then wipe em' right off, works for me.

I bought a bottle of "SPLAT" bug remover.

    Works pretty well.

We have had them pretty bad for about 3 weeks. I left my windows on my truck down one day at work, when I got in after work it stunk in there and there were about 50 dead bugs on my door jam. I thought they would be done by now, but those things keep on bumping uglies. I would rather have this then having the plague of crickets we get.

WD40 supposedly works for getting those things off.

Well they were probably only going to live another few minutes anyway, so at least they died full.

About 2 weeks ago, I was driving to College Station and getting them on my windshield pretty well.

I kept cleaning it off, but after a pretty good cloud of them, they had splattered up my windshield pretty well we ran into a little thunderstorm.

The rain hit the bug guts and created a paste that I could NOT get off my windshield. I ALMOST got into a wreck when the cars in front of me had to stop for another accident.

Couldn't see through that stuff for about 10 seconds while my wipers were going full blast to get them off.

So I was almost killed by love bugs.

OK this is going to sound stupid but I have to ask. Does anyone know these little sex maniacs' actual name? I also drove through a couple of swarms of seemingly Biblical proportions during my weekly commute out to Angleton for work, and I realized that I only knew them as "love bugs". I had no idea what they were actually called, their biological clock, their physiology, or anything else. And since Mr. Wizard doesn't take requests, I thought I'd ask for input from my fellow Clutchers.

dude, these things are horrible this year. I have so many on my windshield from driving aroudn College Station.

I have never seen anythign like this. My poor truck is so dirty, and has been because of these damn bugs for about 3 weeks now. THere is no point in cleaning my windshield since it just gets smoothered in Love Bug Juices everytime I drive it to class.

They are all over our house's front and back doors....they are just everywhere.

I thought that water smelled bad before all of the bugs, and now it is beyond nasty.
