Alright guys...I just got back from the game tonight and the crowd was crap as usual...only the upper deck fans were cheering. Its louder in a sports bar than the stadium....what can we do to change this? I say the Rockets adopt a policy that if the lower seat ppl, the "suits" arent there by the end of the first quarter, they should let all the upper deck fans take their seats...use it or lose it! Any other suggestions? You can actually feel it from the Rockets that they want the crowd to get into the game, especially Jon Barry!! I feel for them, and I know that they would be even better with more support

Actually, on TV...for a TC crowd I thought that they were exceptionally loud. Now, that means that they were about average compared to the rest of the league, but it was one of the louder regular season crowds I've heard in the TC.

its been b****ed about every year and every year it turns into politics... :(

mostly companies/corporations buy the lower bowl tickets and half the time, if its not a marquee team, is empty compared to the upper deck. I have been luck to have some great seats at sec 107 row 2 cause I got tixs here from work (ask Miguel, he has gotten some too) and its quiet as hell all the time, and Im usually the loudest one when down there :(

I know, let's all take start our own corporations and buy season tickets for the company and only let the most diehard rocket fans out of our employees attend. Come on. The TC is no different than just about any other arena in the league. The corporates don't make noise. Get used to it...

This has been brought up many times, junkforanish. You can voice your opinion about it, but it's always going to come down to corporate and the almighty dollar. I wish I could afford those seats or even get those seats. But you have the high rollers who buy the seats off and just won't come to the game or give them up.

The Rockets marketing, ticketing and entertainment departments should be fired.

    It's ridiculous crap.

I was in the upper deck and I thought the crowd was the best it's ever been in a non play off game. When Deke came in and got the game rolling the crowd was goin nuts. Standing ovation at the end too, you must have left early and missed it.

We're not a poor, broken-down city like Philly, so that won't happen :p

Seriously, this is just the makeup of TC, and the whole point of it is to make max money for Les, which it does. Mission Accomplished.

It don't matter, the crowd wasn't crappy for a 1st game of the season, with 81 games still left. Don't worry, the crowd is no that bad, they're just like everything else in the South...melo.

    Here's the problem...

The best seats in the house - the club seats in the middle of the floor near the court - are ALWAYS sold out. There is zero incentive to lower ticket prices when they don't have enough to sell at this point. In fact, from an economic standpoint, they really have no reason not to raise prices. Simple supply and demand.

The second problem is that if you implemented a program where you had to be in your seats at a certain time, how do you enforce it? Who is allowed downstairs? Which people get into which seats? What if someone is just at the concession stand or in the bathroom? What if they had to work late and can't make it until the second quarter?

I know quite a few people who sit in the club seats and they cheer a LOT. How would you feel if you shelled out $100 per ticket per game, got back from the bathroom and some guy who paid $12 is sitting in your seat? Yeah, I'd be pissed too.

I'm all for getting the fans yelling and screaming, but none of what you suggested is feasible or fair to those who actually spent their money to sit there. Like it or not, they have a right to do what they want including nothing.

Really? Couldn't tell from the crowd...just continuing the b**** mode

I'm just a little perplexed why people who have tickets to a Rox game won't go. I mean, we have one of the most talented all around player in the game, a multitalented center that is only getting better, and this team is on the rise. That alone should be enough for fans to go, why wait for Lebron to come in town when we already have TMac for 41 games.

Now for fans sitting on their hands, well that's typical Houston Suits bball fans for you. Maybe we need to give free beer nights (just kidding for those MADD members here).

 Yea I know its not fair, but man I wish it was louder in there!!! I have had season tickets for the last 4 years and this was one of the worst opening day crowds I have been too...Until Deke came in and started wagging his finger there was no electricity in there...Youd think that opening night for a contending team would be reason enough to cheer a little...I walked past the entrance door midway through the second quarter to use the bathroom and they were still handing out the 15,000 free rally towels. I asked the guy handing them out why they had so many left. His response; the 15,000 are not gone yet, you want some more

Sell 500 "stand-by" pass to season-tix holders in the upper level which allow them to fill in the empty seats in lower level with the agreement to give up the seats to original holders if they show up.

But how do you know if they didn't show up or are just late or are just in the bathroom? When do you let people down there? How many standby passes do you sell and what order do they go in?

I mean, can you imagine the pandemonium down there if you sold say 1000 standby passes and all of those people lined up at the end of the first quarter or at halftime? You'd spend an entire quarter just trying to get people to seats that are vacant.

I remember talking about this at the fan council. There are just no reasonable logistical ways to make it happen. It always SOUNDS like a good idea, but in practice, it would be a nightmare for fans and TC personel.
