So, a mere week after wvu/louisville we get another matchup of big east unbeatens.

obviously as a UT fan i want louisville to lose b/c they're ahead of us in the bcs. if they win, they're basically a road win over Pitt (not exactly hard) from playing in the national championship game. if rutgers wins (and especially if they also beat wvu), it basically proves the big east is a fraud.

considering louisville won 56-5 last year, it seems likely that rutgers will lose this game. of course, apparently this will be the first time in rutgers 137 year history that a ranked rutgers team will play another ranked team (it doesn't even seem possible to be bad enough to avoid a ranked/ranked matchup for 137 years) so the crowd should be pumped. maybe that will help rutgers fairly solid defense out.

i still say louisville pulls it out just to make me mad, probably by 10+. maybe 27-14 or so.

Louisville loses to Rutgers. Rutgers will lose to WVU. And all will be right...

I don't understand the logic that "if rutgers wins, it basically proves the big east is a fruad."

I don't think that any team in the Big East is one of the top two teams in the nation -- but your logic makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Just because a team hasn't been good in a long time doesn't mean they aren't good now. You're hoping that your team, UT, gets into the championship game -- but the only reason they're ranked so high is because of the past. We should judge teams on what they've done this season, not what they've done in the past. It seems like that's why you think Rutgers would "basically prove the big east is a fraud."

People are saying that Rutgers is only good because Miami, BC, and VT are no longer in the Big East. Rutgers winning tonight would prove to everybody that they are for real and not underrated. Go Rutgers!!!!!!!!!

    Bias disclosure...I'm a UT fan.

I think what UT has done this year has earned them a top ten ranking. Their pass defense may be shaky, but they can still put some points on the board. The Ohio State University is the only team that has bragging rights on UT. No Team has bragging rights over Louisville or Rutgers, but I don't expect either team to be undefeated after the bowl games.

If you look at the Sagarin's Predictor computer ranking (one of the more accurate computer polls on predicting who will win games), UT is rated 2nd behind the Ohio State University. Sagarin's Elo-Chess, the politically correct, but less accurate version of his model, has UT at 13.

I would say it is a good bet that UT is somewhere between the 2nd-13th best team in the nation based on what they've done this year. UT is currently 5th in the BCS. I can see arguments for UT being a few spots lower, but I think the Fiesta Bowl game this year will show that UT is ranked appropriately. I hope UT makes the National Championship game, but they don't control their destiny at this point and probably won't make it.

Louiseville and Rutgers, college game of the year. I love it. I hope Rutgers wins and totally screws up the BCS.

Bring a real playoff system to Division I-A football now.

Bingo, I want Rutgers to win for UT's sake but even more so because I want them to mess up the BCS.

Hell have Rutgers go undefeated and see what happens.

I cant speak for "francis 4 prez" but hell Ill take his side. Nobody is bashing teams like Rutgers and WV because they "havent been good in a long time". They are bashed because of a weak schedule. Put any of those teams in the SEC and see what happens. The talent just doesnt compare. I suppose you want Boise State playing the national championship too? Thats just ridiculous. A logical person must take into account talent and schedule. Any 1 loss SEC, Big 10, or Big 12 team (especially Texas and this coming from an Aggie) should trump an undefeated Big East team. If Rutgers wins it out ya, give em a BCS game. Just dont expect it to be entertaining. This isnt college basketball, there is no George Mason here.

I'm a Florida Gator alumn. Who do you think I'm going for?!?! Come on Rutgers!!!

On a somewhat related note: I caught the very tail end of some analyst talking on ESPN. He said the 'SEC should put they're money where their mouth is and play Louisville'. Yes, an SEC team playing Louisville would settle a lot of questions for the whole country and the BCS actually. I personally would pick Florida, Auburn, or Tennessee to win if any of them played. Maybe I'm being too much of a homer, I admit, but it's not a far reach either. Not the point though.

HAVE THE RULES CHANGED? CAN TEAMS JUST CALL ANOTHER TEAM AND PLAY A GAME AT WILL??? HEY LOUISVILLE I'M NOT BUSY NEXT WEDNESDAY LET'S PLAY! IS THIS THE WWE AND WE JUST RANDOMLY CALL TEAMS OUT TO THE STADIUM? I'm sure if Louisville ends up #2 any #3 team would love to play them to prove they deserve to be ahead. This jackass 'analyst' is making a proposition that is impossible to actually do. </rant>

I'd agree with this and add LSU and maybe Arkansas
I'm a Longhorn homer so I'll be rooting for Rutgers.

I'm going with the same line of thinking....My mom almost went to Rutgers so...

    GO RUTGERS!

Plus, why would anyone root against a team that has gone from a laughing stock throughout it's entire school history to an undefeated team????

They would both get DESTROYED by OSU, Michigan, UT, Notre Dame, Auburn...any of the better college schools

If Louisville gets to the national title game it will show what a farce the BCS continues to be.
