Yeah, Detroit could be dominating the east for a couple of years if they can keep their core players (Wallace, Hamilton, Billups) along with Carmelo or Darko.

Can the whole lottery conspiracy theory about the NBA Lottery be put to rest now?

    Memphis lost big time!

Yo folks, the memphis grizzlie lost big time in the NBA draft. The first selection was the 13 pick and then stood 2nd, meaning they have to give the pick to the pistons.
    Wawh!

No doubt! Anthony and Hamilton at the wings, Big Ben in the middle and Chaunch running the point. Scary good!

This is actually good news for the Rockets. With Anthony, Prince and Hamilton (can all play the 2 and 3) taking up all the mins at the 2 and 3, the Pistons might not want to retain Jon Barry. ;)

Must suck to be a Memphis fan. Worse case scenario with both picks.

It's OK with me if Lebron & Darko go to the east. Les was probably hoping Memphis or Denver would win so Lebron would make more than 1 appearance per year in Houston.

It couldn't have worked out any better. The Rockets gave up the #13 pick as expected. The Pistons get Memphis' pick, and at #2 no less. And Cleveland gets LeBron James. The Leastern Conference got over big time tonight, which is what needs to happen if the league is ever gonna get more competitive.

If you were Detroit, who do you pick: Darko or Carmello? I am thinking Anthony.

You know what is really scary? Lets say they draft Carmello. The Pistons are also going to be around $10 mil under the cap this offseason. They could sign a Ratliff, Mourning, Olowokandi, O'Neal or Clark to play the 5, so Wallace can play the 4.

    PG - Billups
    SG - Hamilton
    SF - Anthony
    PF - Wallace
C- Mourning, Ratliff, Kandi, O'Neal or Keon Clark

Bench: Prince (possible 6th man candidate next year), Okur, Atkins, Robinson and Williamson)

All the times that Memphis fans came over here talking about getting our pick and all they got was a #13 pick! Yet we had our own pick last year and got a lottery pick. If it was one year earlier they would have had Yao Ming. Think about that Memphis fan! LOL!

    My quick thoughts:

Memphis - wow, basically OT for Darko or Carmelo that has gotta hurt Jerry West.

Cleveland - it will be interesting to see LeBron in his hometown. Does this mean that Van Gundy will take the Cleveland coaching job now? Would definitely raise the profile of the Cavs for any coach going in.

Denver - could be scary if they draft Darko - how many trees are they going to have there?

TJ Ford - does this mean he will go to Toronto or Miami (both could use a playmaker)

Interesting - yeah, I think no conspiracy theory although LeBron James to Cleveland was a nice touch.

    You guys are slow!
Must not read the Rockets forum much...

Anyways. Detroit will be really good next year then. They will make the Finals...and possibly win the Championship.

If I were them...I would choose Carmelo Anthony.

    Right now...

    Chauncey Billups
    Richard Hamilton
    Michael Curry or Tayshaun Prince
    Clifford Robinson
    Ben Wallace

Hmm...maybe move Ben Wallace to the 2 and get Darko?

I would just get Carmelo.....who is guaranteed offense.

They are well coached...they will be a contender definitely.

Yes!! I am so happy that we got the #1 pick, aka LeBron James! The only problem now is I'll probably never get to see a live Cavs game again! Tickets are gonna be selling out like crazy!:(
