Finally, something good on TV to watch! ABC split the 2-hour pilot into 2 separate episodes, so it was hard to judge the series until both "pilot" episodes premiered. And I gotta say, the show is damn good so far. So many different plot twists and future threads to follow. Bravo, J.J. Abrams. Keep up the suspense and twists! I need something to tide my over until 24 and The O.C. come back... For those of you who missed the pilot, ABC is airing both episodes on Saturday night. Check it out! BTW, I read an interview with the production staff on AICN.com, and I learned a few really cool spoilers that I'm willing to share (nothing too bad). I'll put them below in another post.

I can't get past the horrible acting in the promos *CRY* I've just been through a trauma here! we've all been through a trauma.... uh no
it's been ok. i don't know if i'll be able to stay interested though. ...the guy who played hobbit Merry is in it. ...weird seeing Augustus Hill with short hair and not in a wheelchair, plus he's in another series with a character named Said ...Matthew Fox is decent as the lead guy but i keep thinking of him as his Party of Five character ...the lead girl looks like a cross between Kate Beckinsale and Lily Taylor. ...the pregnant girl used to be on Roswell and her character there ruined that show. plus her accent so far has been all over the place.
The show is pretty good so far, but I geek out for these kind of "castaway" type premises. I thought it was going to just be like a lord of the flies thing, but glad to see they are throwing in other elements aside from the group dynamic. Reminds me of that crappy mini-series that was on NBC a long time ago, I think it was called Danger Island. And as far as the acting, I think it's been top notch.
Here is the AICN.com article I was talking about earlier. It's an interview with one of the creators of the show. Some SPOILER tidbits gathered from the article: 1) It is entirely possible that one of the characters was never actually on the plane. (The creator guy being interviewed was vague.) 2) Something else (not another plane) will eventually crash on the island. 3) Characters who are defined as "good" may end up "evil." 4) According to the article, "... neither the crash, nor anything else, is dictated by happenstance." 5) According to the article, "The herd [survivor group] will be thinned, but that doesn't mean people have to die." 6) The big creature thing on the island is not a dinosaur. 7) There will be no cannibalism.
Yeah, why wouldn't it be? It is one of the highest rated shows on TV and it gets nominated for numerous awards. It'll be back.
I saw teh first part but missed part 2 last night. I really liked teh first episode and will miss teh repeat on Saturday since it is the same time as OSU-Northwestern. But what is up with the dog any ideas (maybe somethign happened on part 2)? he's there when Jack wakes up on the island and as they tromp into the jungle. Does the dog morph into the killer "thing" or is the dog a buddy of the thing?
You find out in the second episode that the dog you see in episode 1 is really the little boy's dog. The boy goes searching for the dog in episode 2 and stumbles upon... a plot twist.
David Fury, long time Buffy and Angel writer/producer, is executive producer on this show. Should be quality.
The show reminds me of a soap opera because of some of the ludicrous things which have already happened. Maybe it should be on daytime instead?
